I Donāt See Nothinā Wronggg Wit a LilāĀ Wine & Dive
..except there were a couple of things wrongā¦
This weeks venture was dedicated to none other than Maxās Wine Dive.Ā Ā
Wine Dive Sliders (Chicken)Ā š
This place has been soo talked about via Thrillist and my social media feeds alike, and so it was a must on my list!
First things first, I will say that the atmosphere was great for me. Maybe itās because Iām part vampire or due to my depression, butĀ I really like hanging out in the dark, so the dim lighting suitedĀ me and since this is Downtown Dallas, you can expect to find colorful patrons (people from all walks of life) at this establishment.Ā
I had a 7:30 pmĀ reservation on a Friday night via Open Table (I love anything that screams loyalty program and points for free stuff) and the party mustāve not gotten started till later because it was a very calm atmosphere. The only nagĀ I had as far as atmosphere goes was that the music choice was not for me. Wine + Chicken does not equal Mr. Brightside by The Killers. As much asĀ I love that song and as much as I like the fact that itās a casual scene, I expected more of a classy vibe.Ā Ā Can we get some Maxwell, some Santana, BTSās House of Cards, or Erykah Badu?Ā
If you need a Resturant Musical Selectionist, have your people call my people. Kus right nowā¦
Also, dirty silverwareĀ was not a good look.Ā
The sliders were ok, I shouldāve followed my mind and opted out of the honey butter (I know I complained about the honey butter at GourdoughāsĀ ) Ā butĀ it was way too sweet and drowned out the nice taste of the chicken.
Also, do you see something wrong with this picture?!
Did you guys run out of lettuceĀ back there? This was how it was originally set on the table; open-faced, by the way. And the waiter/ server said nothingĀ about it eitherā¦I couldāve been bad and bougie but plates returned to the kitchen have a tendencyĀ to provoke a little ātastyā Ā revenge from irate chefs/servers alike.Ā
I stole a tender from a family membersĀ plate for a ācorrectā taste and the chicken is actually not that bad! Its full of taste but can come off a little bit salty and dry. But lots of taste is better that none at all. It has a similar taste to Streetās Fine Chicken. I shouldāve just stuck to my tried and trueĀ āmeat n breadā.
I also decided to try another popular menu item: the Max āN Cheese.
While I will say this was one of the most wonderful pictures I have taken, itās very clear that this appeals only to your sight sense rather than your taste sense. Ā I donāt know why the mac and cheese is so raved about because it was so blandā¦ May I suggest adding some Velveeta brandās, Queso Blanco??
The french fries were a surprise big hit though, I really liked them! Salt and pepper need to be on these tables to add a little more taste. Ā
BONUS:Ā It looked like I wouldāve been better off with what my sister ordered:
