IT IS EASIER SAID than done. for a certainty, sansa was trying to pay little mind to her. trying incredibly hard to focus on the surface of the lord's desk, full with papers and ledgers, full of requests from houses seeking aid or alliance or both. one particularly lengthy scroll contained a missive from castle black – she'd read the opening sentences near six times since turstin's hands had found her shoulders, working away the tension and knots that settled into the base of her neck two hours ago, after listening to lord stane petition for her hand in marriage for his second-born son.

“ did you not come to distract me, my lady? ” she asks, a tilt of her gaze away from the letter in her hands, the delicate blues of her eyes finding purpose to become lively once more on the surface of turstin's face. theirs was a bond misunderstood by most, if not all, within the halls of winterfell. a lady, her friend, not the sole person who set her soul ablaze. a soft, fleeting sigh as a knot is worked from her, sansa's head lolling back.

the sigh is ever present in her, an exhale – the exhaustion without further explanation. it was a position that saw no end; no respite from the amount of work that went into it. a position she had not asked for, but one that had needed her all the same – it was the very same double-ended blade that had once swung its nasty steel towards her father. for the good of the realm; for the good of the northern people who needed a stark in winterfell.

turstin is the only reprieve, the only good thing she can think of to happen recently. sansa's hand moves slowly, delicately to press atop turstin's on her shoulders. gently curling, tugging her hand to place a soft kiss to her palm.
