hi! i absolutely love illiterate and it helped me through a very hard time in my life. would you ever consider releasing tabs for the guitar parts? otherwise i'll try my best to learn it by ear from the stems you posted (very cool btw)
thank you, im glad to hear my music has that kind of effect. i cant really figure out how to write out tabs yet but the idea of tutorials has come across my mind a few times. time will see, some of the songs werent written and recorded with the idea of being playable on one instrument... but they arent too difficult to figure out by ear, i think. i try not to use too complex of chords on guitar lol
"you shouldn't listen to me" too bad this music is too good to not listen to 🥹🥹 in all seriousness, your album is amazing and possibly life-changing, thank you for writing it (and for the note at the end)
thank you i appreciate it !
This might be dumb to say, but Stay Safe, Little One changed my life. When I was super depressed, the urge to listen to it over and over again kept me alive, and it’s helped me fall in love with music to the point where I’ve started trying to make my own. I’m not very good at it, but the act of creation is so fulfilling, I’ll never get AI “artists”. I do have a question, though, which is how did you learn to play instruments? Did you have formal lessons? Were you self taught?
that genuinely means so much to me that my music had that impact on somebody. its not dumb at all to me, seriously. thats basically why i make music myself, to give back to something thats been so important to me. the most 'formal lessons' i ever got was orchestra class in school which i didnt really retain at all. im fully self taught. i just felt like i got more fulfillment out of doing it myself. the point is to keep on going, stranger. make what you want to make forever. the only way forward is Through. The only way to improve is to keep going and keep working at it.
Who or what inspired you to make music? I look up to you btw :)
the "who" of that question is the artists i was listening to through 2020, i make music because it got me through the pandemic. artists like rob scallon, cosmo sheldrake, lemon demon, gorillaz, and oliver tree(rest in fuckin peace) got me to think about music a lot more. the stuff thats inspired my current style tho is a mix of that and bands/artists like willy rodriguez, glass beach, jack campbell. i could go on and on forever theres a lot of artists i listen to the "what" of that question is when i was younger i was always surrounded by creativity, my mom playing CD's in her car driving me to school every morning. i've always wanted to make stuff and 2020 gave me the opportunity to do Something, and of all things i could have landed on i ended up doing music. i really do have my mom to thank for buying my first guitar back in 2017 what pushed and continues to push me to make things is this neverending urge to Create
I just wanted to mention that the little note you left at the end of the album really helped me get through a tough time. When I first read it, it came off pretty weird, but it really stuck with me for a while, and it genuinely helped me try to get better. I can’t say I’m perfectly fine right now, but I am much better. I just wanted to thank you for that. Also your album is so so so so good, are we ever going to get physical merch of it?
it means a lot that my little message meant something to somebody. i wish you well on your travels. always work to be the best version of yourself. physicals are gonna happen eventually its just a matter of having the time necessary to do them. good luck
What was making Stay Safe, Little One like? Did you make it all yourself or did you have a lot of help from a bunch of different collaborators?
it was all me, with the occasional bit of advice from a few of my friends. the writing process was super slow, spanning across several months of going in and out of burnout, also just being busy with other stuff inbetween. from about september 2024 to december 2025. most of the album was finished off in the last 3 months of 2025, tho
Do you play all of the instruments on the new album? Alternatively, how was the recording process?
if youre asking about post recovery, no. all i did was sing on it lol. i was asked to sing on the album before it was even fully finished and i have never written lyrics faster in my life. a couple of the songs i got down in the same day!
just listened to Stay Safe, Little One, absolutely loved it. Do you plan on making any more music, or was this just a one time sort of deal? I’d love to hear more of what you can make
i love writing music i am never gonna stop. im taking a little break before i start writing again tho so that i dont write the same exact album twice lol
how in the WORLD did you compose the album cover for stay safe little one in your head??? its so beast!!
i was inspired by the album cover of jack campbell's ep, lucky break. i thought it'd be cool if i had like, a big scary version of me telling a little fox version of me to calm the flip down. i made a mockup of it with a bunch of stock photos at like 3 am extremely sleep deprived
by the way, shoutout to my mom for painting the cover art she did a great job
