Now I love me some Xena but I was not feeling that Anthony and Cleopatra episode

Another thing I love about Xena and Gabrielle’s relationship is the way they comfort one another without using any words at all. Again, it goes back to their soul mate connection and how they can use body language to communicate. It’s most evident with Gabrielle where she basically just stands or sits beside Xena and just shares her pain without saying anything. Knowing no words can help.

That easy empathy they have is just another reason why they’re meant for each other because one has what the other is in need of which is the basis of every romantic relationship. To cater to and provide what the other has a lack thereof. When Xena pulls Gabrielle into her and Gabrielle cradles her head into Xena’s breastplate… Xena is saying through her body language “Hush now, give it all to me. Trust in me. Rely on me. I am here. I’m not going anywhere”. This is the kind of thing, that in my opinion, makes them seem much more so a couple then they would if they were to kiss each other every episode. This is more intimate because there is more ease than tension between them when they hold on to each other like this in this scene and in many other scenes. It shows deep love.

I’ve been watching Xena lately and in the second episode she gets shot with an arrow and that guy helps nurse her back to health (i say help because Xena is Xena and she had to walk him through it) and she was getting ready to leave but she got hurt lifing something. so he hits her with this “Are you so brave that you fear being cared for?” and there was this milisecond pause and i know she was probably like…. boy?? what????
