@yasir-osmani
Family: Muqtadir Osmani-Father (58) // Alia Osmani-Stepmother (55) // Zimran Osmani-Eldest Brother (30) // Ammar Osmani-Older brother (28) // Naeema Osmani-Older Sister (24) // Yasir Osmani (21) // Maryam Osmani-Younger Sister (18)
Brief History: TW: mention of drugs and alcohol
Yasir and his siblings were all born in America, but his father was not. Muqtadir hailed from Pakistan, and Alia was from the States. When they married, Muqtadir and Alia settled in Boston to make sure that their children had access to good education.
Yasir’s family is extremely rich. Not just one or two people, but the entire Osmani clan. Muqtadir was a surgeon, while Alia was a registered nurse. Zimran, the oldest of the children, was an accomplished lawyer, graduating top of his class in law school and setting up a successful firm. Ammar, fresh out of college, was starting at dental school. Naeema, his oldest sister, was finishing her last year in college on her path to become involved in politics. Yasir Osmani, in comparison to his siblings, was a degenerate.
From the beginning of his life as well as now, Yasir has always been in the shadow of his family. He didn’t resemble many of his siblings, nor his relative aunts, uncles, or his stepmother. This was because he was not born to Muqtadir and Alia, but because he was bestowed upon them. A brief affair between Muqtadir and a woman left her pregnant, and when Yasir was born, he caused a lot of conflict between his father and Alia.
Muqtadir’s affair may have been brief, but it wasn’t the only one he had. A while later, the two fell together again, like planets orbiting each other, unable to keep away. This produced Maryam, and once again Alia Osmani was not happy. For the sake of family pride and reputation, she stayed with Muqtadir, but their marriage was never the same, and as Yasir got older, it became more and more obvious.
From an early age, Yasir showed signs of artistic genius. At his daycare that he had to endure for several years, there were building blocks, finger paints, the works. Yasir particularly enjoyed these activities, and he was painting recognizable pictures before the rest of his classmates. Despite his clear talent, his parents were not impressed. They cared very little for art, music, dance, even self-expression. They didn’t discourage Yasir’s abilities yet, but did not encourage them either. They were simply too busy with their own lives to pay him any notice
As he got older, the more obvious it was that he wasn’t very talented in academia. And the more obvious it was that his parents thought of him as a dark stain on a white satin cloth. This caused Yasir to drastically diverge from his family, seeking out the attention of others. Whatever peer group that would take him under their wing, he stuck with. In High School, this meant he clicked with the artistic potheads who shunned societal norms. Although Yasir wasn’t completely like them, he did partake in their drug culture and dressed in representation of rebellion. When he got his ears pierced by his friends, he was practically disowned when he came home. When Yasir ended up on Muqtadir’s doorstep with a police officer, caught for possession of alcohol while underage, it was obvious that Alia wasn’t going to support him for much longer.
Yasir wasn’t totally cut off from his parents when he was basically thrown out. Extra cash was occasionally wired to a bank account for him, which he hardly ever touched so the money just built up. This was mostly just incentive for Yasir not to return home asking for money, for Alia wanted to have as little to do with him as possible.
