OKAY AHHH i'm cooking up an oc and a plot!
here's bernadelle tully, the only child of brynden blackfish, cousin to catelyn, lysa, and edmure tully. cat calls her bernie :)
this is her before and after the war of the five kings breaks out! i'm still working out the plot but the idea is that brynden trains her himself how to fight and swim, just as he would a son. she cuts off all her hair to present or pass more as a man and/or masculinize herself so people would respect her more as a warrior. it's successful (for the most part) because the people of riverrun really respect her... or at least they dare not disrespect her in front of the blackfish bcs he's fiercely protective over his daughter. cat, when seeing her coz again for the first time since she left for winterfell, is shocked to see how much bernie's changed, and thinks about how she looks so much like robb.
personality-wise, bernie is shrewd, efficient, a competent leader, and a really good swimmer, but her major flaws includes jumping to conclusions, holding strong grudges, and having severe tunnel-vision when she sets her mind on something. she doesn't speak much, because she's conscious of how her voice sounds (lacking the typical baritone of a man). bernie really enjoys fishing and doing sums (jaime thinks she's such a bore for that LOL)
canonically, jaime was meant to be betrothed to lysa tully. but during his time at riverrun, he ignored lysa and was far more interested in brynden, and by proxy, his pratically-mute daughter. i think they would have suchhh an interesting dynamic together. she doesn't pay him any mind when they were teenagers but later on after the war breaks out she hates hates hates his guts... and you can just imagine how she must feel about him after the red wedding. not to mention later on in a feast for crows when jaime has edmure and her father hostage! AH it'll be sooo juicy to dissect i can't wait to fully flesh this out!
