there have been many cases already international clients dropping their commissions from filipino artists or avoiding commissioning filipino creators altogether, either due to a fear of consequences getting associated with us because of current events or the misguided notion that not supporting us somehow hurts the oppressive government we’re under. lemme address both those issues:
for the first reason, nothing will happen to you, a foreigner, for supporting filipinos. theres nothing to be afraid of, youre not in this country and wont suffer any consequences. many of us, however? we’re afraid. especially artists and creators who rely on commissions to support themselves and their families
for the second reason, you are not hurting our oppressors at all. you are hurting filipinos, majority of which did not want this to happen and are actively speaking out against the looming dictatorship. dropping filipino creators does nothing but hurt us. our inflation rates are predicted to rise, and money is fast becoming an even bigger issue for so so many

it wasn't really intentional and jake didn't plan to sleep with someone who isn't you but it just happened and he was caught on the moment to the point he forgot that he has a girlfriend waiting for him to comeback home.

Because I saw a lot of soulmate AU in another fandom I'm following so I want to write this for Lookism.
Characters: Daniel, Eli, Samuel, Gun.
Settings: Prior to meeting their soulmate, people received a soulmate mark unique to the two of them which will darken the closer one gets to meeting their soulmate. For some, it happened instantly the moment they met their soul, for others, it could take up to two years before they met each other and their mark reached completion.
— Daniel received his mark on the eve of his last birthday before he enrolled on high school. He was elated and hopeful when he shared the news with his mom. Even if it's possible that he won't see you for at least two more years. Yet, it didn't keep him from searching around when he entered his first high school.
A semester passed and Daniel became the target of heavy bullying under Logan's hands. Somehow, amidst his struggle, he continued to remain hopeful that you'd one day show up from the trenches and saved him. But you didn't and he transferred, that chapter of his life was put behind him for that one moment.
Even in the new school, he didn't really stay hopeful about meeting you there. At times, his eyes scanned his classmate. He wondered if any of them could be his soulmate. His eyes lingered on one person often, but he resisted the thought of developing a crush. After all, it'd be unfair on both his soulmate and his crush down the line.
His discovery of your soulmate mark only came by chance. It was during a pool outing with the rest of the friend group. He saw his mark on you, the obscured lines drawn intricately below your belly button. Daniel glanced down at his own body, the new one.
His skin was clear, unblemished by the soulmate mark, not the way his original body did. Yet, his heart couldn't help but feel warm. The thought that the one he had been crushing on was his soulmate after all made him believe that for once, things could go well in his world.
Now... he needed to figure out to navigate this two bodies situation without weirding you out.
— Eli didn't know much about soulmates back then. He only knew that some people would one day meet their destined lover because some mark on their body dictated that. For someone who spent his entire life up to that point struggling, he didn't believe it one bit even if he had seen his friends experience the same before.
Back then, he believed Heather when she said that people didn't have to be perfect for each other to be in a relationship. It was easy to believe her, pretty eyes, pretty smile. He was bewitched and mistepped. Even until now, he wouldn't know if he'd redo what happened back then.
Yena was a gift, but the cost of having her was too expensive. It left Eli thinking that it might've been for the best that he never got a soulmate, after all. Because once was enough, he didn't have to hurt another. But then he met you. The soulmate mark clicked in on an instance. He almost dropped the formula he was checking for Yena.
He couldn't believe his eyes. Not when he set them on you. There was no way his luck could be that great. Eli immediately covered the bare skin where his mark showed. He did his best to ignore the shape of it on your skin too.
At the foremost of his mind, he prayed that you wouldn't put two to two together and escaped from the scene fast as possible. It was simply his luck that he didn't get out of that situation easily. He ran to you again the month after, during the orientation week at his new high school.
You didn't seem to remember him, but when his eyes met with yours, he found himself struck by lightning and rendered speechless again. Eli recovered quick enough that his new classmates didn't notice his dumbstruck expression. Yet, he couldn't push away his reaction completely.
Not with the way his heart thrummed within his chest.
— Some people don't have soulmate marks. You once recited the statistics to Samuel while the two of you were in downtime at Big Deal. The chances of a soulmate mark happening within the first thirty years of a person's life are 63.47% and the chance of a person receiving a soulmate mark within their lifetime is 38.23%
It can happen to a number of people. But it can't happen to everyone. And sometimes, people fall in love regardless of the mark. Some people stayed together, some didn't. Either way, the concept of a soulmate was silly.
Samuel agreed even when his eyes landed on the thin, grey line which indicated a future possibility of a soulmate on your arm. He buried the acknowledgement that his own skin had none of such. And whatever possibility of a soulmate he'd have was covered by tattoos on every inch of his body.
He had given up on something sentimental as love long ago. The thought would only distract him from his end goal. Even if he ought to have one down the line, he would cover it and block the person from entering his life.
After all, he had experienced love once. The entire ordeal was nothing but painful for him. From the moment he developed his feelings to his acknowledgement that there was someone out there who fits better for you. He had seen it all and he had decided that love was a wretched thing.
It got even worse when he saw exactly who you matched with. He distanced himself further from you afterwards, not wanting you to add to his hurt further. Yet, you kept managed to worm your way into his heart. Again and again, like it was your rightful place and you wouldn't have it otherwise.
You made him believe that things could be different... and maybe, just maybe you were right, not all couples which ended up together were soulmates, weren't they?
— Gun remembered the disinterest in your eyes when you pointed out that the mark on your neck and his were one and the same. You remained nonchalant even while his father discussed the prospect of marriage with yours. Neither of you thought much about the engagement once the fuss was over.
At one point, you came up to him and told him to live as he wanted without the bother of an engagement. And for a time, he did. Challenging the notion that a soulmate was meant to be was an interesting task. Neither of you was interested in each other, maybe all of this was nothing but myths.
Which was how you surprised him when you asked to go to Korea with him. The proposal was delivered with a completely deadpan expression and the feeble excuse of wanting to stay close to your fiance. Of course, he bought none of it but saw no harm in letting you go with him.
When he agreed, he witnessed your genuine smile for the first time. Something inside him told him that he wanted to see more of it. The thought was alien to him. He didn't contemplate too much about it. After all, he was not unfamiliar with strange whims.
The close proximity with you during your time in Korea together proved to be fruitful. You stuck to him often in the beginning, unfamiliar with the language. The chances to talk with you helped him learn more about you. Things he didn't know, things previously was hidden to him because of his disinterest. For a moment, he almost thought that something could’ve blossomed there.
But then, whatever expectation he had crashed on the floor when you reminded him of your previous agreement. This time, you even told him that once he assumed the title of the head of the clan, it is possible to cancel the engagement. The thought didn’t even pass his mind until then, and somehow, freeing as that would be, it displeased him immensely.
