Day 4 of Startupbootcamp
We spilt up into two teams today. One stayed in the office, the other went out for customer development. Glad we have a 4 man team that can take on multiple fronts at the same time! :)
Learnings:
Customer development team: Had a chat at 3 locations. Pitched the idea, looked for potential opportunities.
1st location: store owner not available. Will try and schedule appointment.
2nd location: may not have budget for advertising. Peaked interest in directing foot traffic into their restaurant.
3rd location: they focus on dining experience. may not be relevant for fast food. There is interest in using it as a mechanism for ordering items such as dimsum. Potential lead here and introduction to fast food location.
4th location: To be scheduled next week.
5th location: Got email, will attempt to schedule appointment.
Office Team: Great session today with lots of learnings about how to go about customer development. Key idea is to learn the needs of the customer. Go in with the mentality of funding out what their pain points, problems, and what they have done to try and solve them. Do not pitch them the solution. Understand the need and market.
