watching this is making me miss how there used to be sakuga in the pretty series

i like how each part of 'deeper voices, worse attitudes, and complex relationship with femininity' describes 1 member of dressing pafe BUT all 3 of them apply to hibiki

'every character in pripara is an argument meant to challenge the show's thesis' that really explains it. why i love it.

the 'setting up arcs using side characters' thing should have been obvious to me but it wasn't. i'll keep it in mind from now on

i can't believe in all this time i never really understood that hibiki shatters their own heart in the making drama :(

i haven't seen les miserables but my mom is a big fan and she says the story/the french revolution in general has a theme of thinking dying is worth it for the sake of ideals/the bigger picture. and hibiki is french and sure does reference revolutions a lot

this was a good primer on season 3 for me since i never actually watched it lol

i don't know what kinpre is but the sound of a crazy murder suicide is tempting me badly

I'm trying to think of how to explain kinpri so the maximum number of people understand. it's a spinoff of an idol anime for little girls that was already kind of crazy that is about boys instead and is extremely crazy. it's sort of like if five years from now they were like "we're making a kpop demon hunters spinoff and huntrix isn't in it and it's about a bunch of boys who want to be idols and the saja boys are their mentors. and theyre nude and touching on each other all the time" and eventually they did a double feature of the movie with sharknado bc they're basically the same. it's kind of like that

ok now i'll stop making posts hating on aipri because every time i do it i think about that post about the person who made an impassioned video essay about build-a-bear being worse than it was when they were a kid
