Extremely happy with the way these photos came out and am proud of all the progress I have made as an artist. I loved the ability for us to explore our interests on this project and the idea of in-progress critiques, because I was able to get a lot of useful information which resulted in the success of my prints.

This was the only sense of peace and calm that I had this past Friday! Black Friday is no joke nor anything to lose sleep over, it can wait until cyber Monday! All jokes aside, I am continuously amazed by the sunsets in my hometown and the ability for all the different colors they produce and what a beautiful sight they create.

Nothing more peaceful and beautiful then the falling sun by the water. I decided to post this photo because I love the natural depth the photo possesses and the way the clouds are wispy in the sky and seem to have their own texture. Not only that, but the camera was able to capture so much detail that the foreground has just as much clarity as the central point within the photo.

Photo of this week goes to my recently completed project on portraiture! I was extremely pleased with the results of my created images, I only wished the bottom photo came out more clear. But besides that, each photo accomplished what I wanted them too in depicting my friend Elijah’s personality and his personal story. Out of all the photos, I would say that the far left photo is my favorite because it possesses the deepest message and is the most aesthetically appealing in my opinion.

Throwback to attending the art exhibit my freshman year of high school, this work was all done by my friend Ed Baxter and he is to this day one of the most talented and creative artists I have ever seen!

This is a little sneak peak on what there is to come for my portrature project! I am very excited to see how these edits came out....updates coming soon!

This is just something I have been playing around with on photoshop for my upcoming projects on portraiture. I’m still getting back into the swing of things getting myself familiar with photoshop, but I am ecstatic for the potential and creativity e elements I can add to this project once I get familiar with the program again.

My photo of the week this week is dedicated to the centerpiece of the gardens at the George Eastman Museum which I went to over the weekend. I would have to say this was probably my favorite part when touring the museum because I love the outdoors and the area just gave off an aura of peace and calamity which was much needed!

This is the final 5 that made the cut for Project number Two! I am very happy with the way my images came out and I really enjoyed the topic of perspective and manipulating these images. If I were to redo this project I would probably make my focus even more narrow and focus on one statue instead of a total theme, but besides that I found the contrast and details in each photo captivating and unique. I can’t wait to see what Project 3 has in store...

Looking back on my 15 Assignments list, I did not realize that I needed a day and night photo go Rush Rhees to complete the task so here it is....I just find the library an aesthetic sight and adore its intricacy and details, plus I think the Meliora letters in front complemented it well.

I was able to get a great back view shot of Rush Rhees library! I can finally check that off the list of assignments. But on a real note, Rochester has some amazing views both on and off campus and I was lucky enough to capture this gem just by looking out my door room window.

I was walking out of practice on my phone and looked up to see this beautiful sight. It’s the little things in life that can just brighten up our day, and I am grateful to be healthy and have the opportunity to experience settings like these. Besides that, I found the scene aesthetically pleasing and I am also a huge fan of sunsets so I had to capture this and share it!

I thought “Poetics of Space” was an enriching and complex piece of writing. The way in which the author utilizes their vocabulary and gives examples as to what they are describing helped keep me hooked and interested as to what was being elaborated upon. After having read about miniatures and intimate immensity it opened my mind to potential topic focuses for my upcoming project and challenged me to think innovatively to capturing detail and depth. The article talks about nature numerous times and I loved how it was able to convey a sense of peace and calamity in doing so. Overall, I believe the author did an amazing job with their imagery and captivating their audience by painting the beautiful photos described in their heads all while informing them about immensity, small and large, and about capturing the slightest details. Somehow and someway, everything comes back to the little things in life and it seems simplicity and nature is always at the heart of that statement. I cannot wait to get started on this next project.

Photograms This is project number one everybody, I found photograms to be an interesting topic of exploration and would love to do some more work with it in the future. My main theme I was trying to depict with the variations in these photos was opacity, and I was glad my classmates were able to pick up on that through the critique. From the feedback I received, I think if I were to redo this assignment, I would either focus on natural objects of varying tone or use only the circle image and vary them throughout the series of photos as many found that one very aesthetically pleasing. When described, no one usually labels me as creative right away but I hope through the techniques and alternate assignments in the class I will change that stigma and be able to confidently present clever and inventive work. But for the first project, I do not think I did bad and I cannot wait for what the future holds in store.
