DREW WUTKE
This post is dedicated to my amazingly talented friend and music director, Drew Wutke from NYC. Without this beautiful man, I would not be on stage, I would not sing the songs I sing and I would not have a show to produce. So, thank you Drew for all you do for me!!
OKLAHOMA CITY REUNION!
Some friends of mine from OCU decided to take a little road trip to OKC this fall. We stayed in a little airbnb house by the university and had the time of our lives! We visited restaurants we used to go to, clubs downtown, drag shows, bike rides, even stopped by to see my voice teacher Florence Birdwell in Yukon! The last day we were there we took a bike ride all around downtown and the OKC bombing memorial.
I am so grateful to have such wonderful friends! Go stars!!
The flag of Hrvatska in Trogir!
The Quirky Side of Zagreb
I really enjoyed visiting the Museum of Broken Relationships. It started out as an experimental exhibit in Zagreb and since has collected so many momentos from people's broken relationships across the world that it has become it's own museum.
Ironically after I visited the Museum of Broken Relationships I came across a WEDDING down the street at the famous St. Mark's Church!
That same day in Zagreb was a Vegan festival with live music! It's like they knew I was coming...
Finally I caught this grown man playing tetris for free on the street.
I have to get back to Croatia ASAP.
Beautiful Zagreb!
Croatia's capital city, much like many other European cities has so much architecture to see. The National Theatre, Botanical Gardens, Library, even just the train stations are gorgeous. I feel lucky to have been here!
Zagreb Cathedral, Croatia
The Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This is a major landmark in the capital city of Croatia. When I walked in there was a live organ concert going on- just because...
Plitvicka Jezera- National Park, Croatia
A National Treasure... too bad it was pouring that day!
Nin, Croatia
A tiny little gem. This town has the smallest cathedral in the world! It's very old! There is a story about touching this man's toe for good luck!
Zadar, Croatia
Split, Croatia
Final Moments in Venice
Rialto Bridge, Caprese salad, Gelato and another beautiful night... can't wait to go back to Italy!
Dorge's Palace
This is a museum right next to Saint Mark's with a 16 euro ticket, but it's well worth it. Dorge's Palace has so much gold, and paintings just within the design of the palace. They have kept it up like people almost still live inside. I loved it! They also have prison cells in the dungeon or basement of the palace that you can tour. The last photo is a shot from the prison hallway!
St. Mark's Bascilica / San Marco Square
This is the main square of Venice. You can get a ticket ahead of time to skip the line and go straight into the basilica. That costs about 5 euro.. and it SO worth it. Inside you can see a small museum that explains all of the magnificent mosaic work inside, and also go outside and get a view from the top!
Basics of Venice
1. Water Bus: Because this city is all canals you take water busses instead of street busses. You can just get on, not pay, and go... at least that's what I did.
2. Venetian Masks: People are obsessed with these, and I don't know why.
3. Cappuccino and "brioche" and if it says chocolate.. it means filled with nutella. You're welcome.
4. Gondolas: They are so beautiful to watch, but personally I think they are a rip-off. The water bus is fun to ride if you just sit outside :)
Venezia, Italia
What more do you need than gorgeous architecture, a stunning sunset, a giant pizza and $5 wine... I mean...nothing.
Krk, Croatia
Krk is the largest island in Croatia, a country of over 1,200 islands. Krk town or Krk City is the main city on the island. It has a nice center, old castles and cathedrals, beaches, and a marina... much like every other city in Croatia. I enjoyed exploring all the little thin streets in the center, and getting a little bit lost :)
