So my grandma just came out of her room wondering why she couldn’t find some of her socks, and I had to try really hard to keep a straight face because I took three pairs of them, wrapped them, and put them in her stocking so tomorrow morning when she opens them I can say, “I just thought I’d switch things up and GET YOU SOCKS FOR A CHANGE”

It is my grandparents' 83rd and 76th birthdays(they share a birthday, isn't that the cutest?!), so we are eating ice cream and showing them #Frozen for the first time.

the skies are lovely tonight. || for anyone interested, next Saturday will most likely be my last 'Model Day' at Centralia Beauty College; so if you want a service done by me for free, that would be the day to do it! also, please feel free to have lunch with me ANY day. I did my first haircut yesterday afternoon! I was really nervous beforehand, I had a lot of help, and it took me a while(*cough*twohours*cough*), but it turned out really well. Thanks for letting me cut your hair, Jacob! It was fun. :)

the last blurry glimmers of pink at the edge of the sky. || the setting sun always inspires me in some way. tonight is a song in the making. one about love, + beauty, + the One who fulfills our dreams. the One who heals our broken hearts + mends our shattered hopes + makes our wildest dreams come true in ways we could have never even imagined. the One who breathed us into life + brought us back from the dead. the One who spread the stars in the infinite universe but still cares enough to stoop down, pick us up, + carry us when we grow weary + fall. the One who sees every thought of our hearts + not only forgives our wickedness, but also takes away our guiltiness. the One who covers our shame with His blood + a wedding ring. the One who loves us unconditionally, forever+ever+ever+ever+amen.

These awesome people were my heroes on Monday. @dodgercobb+I hiked Mount Ellinor with our friend+sister Amber, seven of her eight brothers, and three other friends. On the way back down, I slipped on some loose rock and landed on my knee. Consequently, I couldn't walk. But, thank the Lord, we just so happened to have not one, not two, but three EMT's in training in our group, who were clever and brought a first aid kit. So they wrapped and iced my knee, then Caleb(green shirt), Micah(grey shirt), + Charles(behind Micah) took turns carrying me on their backs down the mountain. For THREE hours. It was long, hard, awkward, uncomfortable, and the terrain was not easy, but they didn't complain(well...much); they just stepped up and did what needed to be done. This photo accurately represents the weariness we were all feeling, but in the face of all that they stayed cheerful and kept me laughing all the way down. Without them, I don't know how I would have made it off of that mountain. I am so very grateful. This is the definition of a true hero. Thanks, guys. (Photo cred to Amber Coolidge)
