Are you afraid of commitment?

Someone recently accused me of being afraid to commit…to anything. They were right. To me, being afraid of commitment is being afraid of yourself because you don’t know yourself. When you don’t know who you are, you do not know what you want. 

And why would I decide to have a constant in my life if I am unsure of something? I would rather discover what I am capable of and then determine if one of those things includes the promise and steadfastness that commitment requires. 

Being afraid of commitment can simply mean that you are only willing to make promises you can keep.
