deathbeckons:
adonis wasn’t known for his selfless nature, but he knew the difference between right and wrong. even though he hadn’t gone to the co-ordinates after the play, once he knew it had been blown up and that quentin and kane were there helping he had been in attendance too so that he could help with the healing of those that were wounded. once they’d done all they could, doni went home to rest and then made his way to the hospital to see if there was anything more than he could do to offer his assistance. after helping some with their wounds, he saw kane sat in the waiting room and furrowed his brow. he wasted no time in making his way over, gently jolting his knee as to wake him up. “no, they didn’t. but i did.” doni spoke softly, waiting for the wolf to look up and realise who was in front of him. “come on, you’re not waiting any longer. come with me?” the fae offered, gesturing for kane to follow him into the room that he had come from.
once they were inside he shut the door and offered kane a seat, “what happened and why are you here instead of letting quentin heal you?” he asked, confused and slightly concerned, wondering if his best friend had overdone it with how many people he used his magic for in such a short timeframe. “may i?” doni questioned as he had his hands outstretched, wanting to unwrap the wound and clean it before healing it.
“he doesn’t know you’re here, does he?”
Reaching up with one hand to rub his eyes, Kane finally focused on Doni and offered the other a small but tired smile. It was the best he could do after a night of pulling people out of ruble. He was exhausted. Emotionally and physically spent. “Hey.” He greeted the other with a slight nod. He wasn’t sure what Adonis was doing here but it was good to see that he wasn’t hurt. Kane had seen him in the after-math but he was helping and hadn’t really had time to talk. Everyone hurt needed them a lot more then they needed each other in that moment.
Giving a nod, mostly because protesting seemed like too much work, Kane stood up and followed Doni out of the waiting room. He walked into the side room and sat down on one of the beds. He pulled off his jacket as the other spoke. “Think I might’ve cut myself on some silver or somethin’.” He admitted holding out his hand, palm up, to show off the deep gash in it. “He-” Kane shook his head. “Quen needs his rest. Ain’t worth wakin’ him up for this.” He explained as Doni went to work cleaning up his hand. “Save ya’ energy for someone who’s dyin’, okay?” Kane asked. “M’gonna be fine. Could stitch myself up if I had the tools.”
Looking away from the fae, Kane nodded again. “Don’t wanna worry’em. He’s spent. Did to much out there.” He mumbled more to himself than to Doni.

“Don’t be sorry, I wanted to help. Seeing the damage the humans caused…I couldn’t just let them get away with it. But I’ve always been a better killer than a healer, in that I took after my father, not my mother.” Quentin said, a small smile at the thought of his parents but it was laced with the bitterness of their loss and his anger at seeing the destruction and death the humans had caused.
Lately Quentin’s rage towards the humans had been growing once more. He’d thought he’d put it all behind him when he left the guard, put that anger to rest alongside them after he’d gotten his justice for their murder but lately and especially after the explosion, that anger had come back tenfold.
At Kane’s soft praise, Quentin smiled back at his wolf, the other’s pride in him helping to chase away some of that growing pain and frustration as it settled Quentin’s tempest of a mind. He sighed softly at the gentle touch down his back, letting it ease some of the tension in his muscles. “Kane, what do you think of humans?” He asked after a moment of silence, glancing back at his boyfriend before turning to face him. Quentin was curious, not sure he’d ever really asked the other his thoughts on humans, or most other species in fact.
Cupping one side of Quinten’s face in his palm, Kane shook his head slowly. “Don’t know ‘bout tha’. Ya’ did some pretty amazin’ stuff out there. Even if it took a lot outta ya.” Kane pointed put as his finger tips pushed some of Quen’s curls around. He could see that there was more going on it. Looking at Quentin now- It reminded Kane of watching water boil. The bubbles were starting to roll up and break the surface and the water was hot enough to burn. Any second now it would break into a boil.
His question caught Kane off guard just a bit. Honestly, he hadn’t ever thought about it. Most of his life he was too worried about the next meal too ponder what he thought about any species really. He’d seen great acts of violence against his family done by his family. Yes, humans had hurt a lot of people too. Had they taken anything from him personally? No. But what they took from Quentin was horrible. In Kane’s books, taking from Quen was a lot worse than taking from himself.
Humming, Kane’s hand dropped from Q’s cheek down into his own lap. He thought about his words carefully before looking back at Quentin’s face. “Think I feel the same way ‘bout them as I do pretty much everythin’ else.” He admitted after a long moment. “Everythin’ livin’ has a chance t’do alotta harm or alotta good. Don’t really matter wha’ species ya’are.” Kane shrugged his shoulders. “Don’t mean I wouldn’t rip those guys tha’ did wha’ they did t’your family apart. I would. Same as I’d do to whoever blew tha’ place up.” He added not wanting Quentin to take his words the wrong way. “Jus’ tha’ I had my own dad- He did an evil thing but I also had really good wolves help me out for no reason other than they wanted too. Don’t know Quen. Shit’s complicated.” Kane admitted rubbing the back of his own neck.
“Guess I think humans are scared.” Kane spoke up again. “Think they been runnin’ round like chicken’s with them heads cut off.” He went on before turning to look at Quentin. “Don’t mean they should do what they done. Just like my dad shouldn’t have taken all my family. He was scared too. Think they’ll end up just like’em. My dad. Six feet under an’ not a soul carin’ ‘bout it.”

Quentin offered Kane a reassuring smile when he mentioned he’d been worried about him not eating and leaned into the touch. “Don’t worry, its just been a while since I’ve pushed myself with that much magic. It doesn’t take much to grow plants, so I’m a little out of practice is all.” Quentin assured. He knew there was more to it than just that, lately his conflict within himself felt stronger, his hatred of humans raging once more like it had when his parents had died. But he didn’t want to worry Kane with his own inner struggles.
He chuckled at the thought of Kane calling Jasper of all people to come and check on him. “Probably a good thing you didn’t, who knows if he’d even show up.” Quentin joked back. Part of Q was idly curious had Kane called his ex, if Jasper would have come at all or if he’d have not bothered, but Quentin didn’t let himself dwell on the thought for long. “Just a little.” Quentin chuckled softly leaning in to steal a kiss from his boyfriend’s lips. “To start the plants I tend to are generally smaller than people, and a lot less complicated biologically, plus the wounds some people had….they were quite severe and we were so far from the magic of the Myre.”
Nodding, Kane tried to commit this to memory. When it came to magic he knew little to nothing about it. Sure, turning into a wolf on every full moon was pretty magical but he didn’t really do anything to make it happen. It just happened. That was sort of part of his problem. The just happening part. Of course, the full moon was the full moon but his emotional issues were more of a trigger than anything else. That didn’t feel magical at all. He had no idea how Quentin did what he did. It amazed him every time he saw it but knowing it took a lot out of Quen was a good thing. He could help regulate, right? Make sure he didn’t push so hard if anything like this happened again. “Okay.” Kane ran his fingers through the other mans curls.
“M’sorry. Didn’t know it’d take so much outta you.” Kane admitted as he looked over Quentin’s face. He looked so tired still. It was hard to see him like this. He was used to the Quen that was constantly moving around. Growing plants or setting up the shop for the day. He was active and this was just so different. “Ya’ did amazin’. Ya’know that? Wouldn’t have known ya where strugglin’ at all. Jus helped all those people like it was nothin’.” Kane praised easily as he smiled. Quentin was impressive and he should know that.
Moving to sit back a bit, Kane’s hand slipped down Quentin’s back. He could feel the tight muscles under his boyfriend’s shirt. “S’alright now. M’kay? We’re safe. Home. Ain’t no need to do nothin’ but rest.” He promised in a low, calm, tone.

anywhere, neutral territory.
“Ah. What a compliment that was, but no.” Tenaya smirked as he shook his head back and forth. “My brilliance was not the one used in the Commander’s recent dramatization. Though… props to whoever it was.” He licked his lips as he pondered in thought. “Whoever it was managed to hack almost every device.” A pause. “I say almost because only a couple of my computers were affected.” He let out a laugh. “But it was a good show, nonetheless.”
@calamitousstarters
After work, Kane and few of his co-workers had stopped off at a bar for a beer or two. Most of them were chatting idly at the bar as he ordered another drink. Resting his arms against the bar, Kane waited and couldn’t help but overhear the man next to him brag about his part in the humans little show. He was thrown back, instantly, to the moment he thought he was going to lose Quentin. When not only his life, but the life of his lover and most of their friends were all put in danger. He couldn’t help but see the violence left behind after the bombing flash through his mind. So many dead. More hurt.
“Good?” Kane piped up from were he stood. His head shook slowly from one side to another. “Wasn’t much of a show if ya’ ask me.” He grunted, his nose wrinkling at the thought of it. “More of a fuckin’ piss ant shoutin’ real loud than anythin’ else.” He growled out. “Guess that makes ya’ the piss ant’s I.T guy.”

Quentin smiled when he smelt the food Kane had brought them and his boyfriend leaned over to kiss him, turning his head up just enough to catch the other’s lips quickly. It was easy to forget the state he’d been feeling lately whenever Kane was around. “Thanks babe, feels like I’ve got my appetite back.” He said, but reached for the coffee first.
Despite all the rest Q still felt pretty exhausted. It wasn’t often he used so much of his power, even working at the Bloom he rarely used magic to grow his plants unless it was absolutely necessary. “Yeah I’m fine, just tired. Using that much magic isn’t something I do a lot and healing magic is always harder away from the Myre Grove so it took an extra toll.” He reassured his boyfriend with a small smile. “I also don’t spend that much time healing people usually.” He chuckled.
The one, and only, good thing about Quentin being so tired was that he hadn’t noticed Kane’s hand. The cut was nearly ready to have the stiches out. Tonight or tomorrow. He’d take them out himself. Then it’d be, maybe, a day or two till it was like the whole thing had never happened. Having Quen not know and there for not worry, about him or his hand was the only good to come out of any of this.
Although, Kane would trade that for having his lively, active, fae back any day.
“S’good. Was gettin’ worried ‘bout ya’ not eatin’ much.” Kane admitted as he pushed his good hand through Quentin’s curls once more. He did seem to have a bit more colour in his face today. His eyes seemed some what more alert too. Good. Thank god.
Nodding, Kane hummed softly. “Didn’t know if this was normal. Was about t’call Jasper t’find out.” He teased lightly. He’d have to remember not to get Q to do anything like that again. Yes, they had helped a lot of people but Quentin had clearly pushed himself way to far. Kane would keep an eye out for that on the future. God forbid Q ever push himself too far. Kane wouldn’t be able to get over that. “Guess it’s a bit different from healin’ plants?” He asked with a small smile on his lips. Not hearing Quen’s voice for a few days... it really made Kane understand just how much he’d missed it.
shiverrinqs:
Kashvi decided to go right home after the theater. It had been a long night, and there was nothing of genuine interest at the location that made her want to go. Sure she was curious, but not enough. So she went home, most in her pack did, except Lobo, but he did what he’s good at—getting information.
She would never have thought the human commander foolish enough to do this. Messages started going off quickly about the bombing. Kash got to work. Changing out of her nice clothes into just jeans and a t-shirt. Contacting the clinic in the Rotunda ready for those coming in. And they did come. So many of them
The messages were sent to her gamma but went unanswered. So she went to the hospital, surely he might be there. The number of people that filled the emergency room was startling. Some face she recognized: others less so. Kash was quick to search the room. This of her kind that could she directed them to the Rotunda. They already had some witches there to help—still no sign of Lobo. So, the alpha waited, hoping that nothing terrible had happened to him. Her mind went over the events; the dead bodies she saw, the wounded both her and at the Rotunda. It was just a long night, and now whispers of war are on top of everything. She was so exhausted; his words almost seemed muted.
“I don’t think they did.” Dark eyes found him, drifting down to his hand, currently bleeding as blood dripped down towards the ground. “ You’re hurt.” Getting up, she asked for some sauce of a first aid kit. Whatever protest the nurse had died as Kash growled —getting her what she asked. She made her way back to him. “Can I see your hand, just to get it wrapped and clean.” she offered with a smile. He was alone, she wasn’t sure if he was a lone wolf or not, but either way, he should be healing faster than this. “ Did something get into the cut? Taking a while for you to heal, isn’t it?”
Blinking a few times, Kane tried to wake himself up as she spoke to him. Another wolf did comfort him in some deep primal place. He didn’t say anything of it but nodded at her answer. “Ain’t nothin’ big.” Kane promised as he pushed his uninjured hand through his hair and sat back. God his neck was so stiff. Every muscle in his body was ached as he tried to adjust himself in his chair. He felt a pang of guilt for leaving Quentin at home. Maybe he was hurting too? What if he needed help and Kane was here and not-
The she-wolf was back. She had some supplies with her. “Should save it for someone else. M’gonna be fine.” He promised her as more blood dripped from his hand and on to the floor. Fuck. He really was making a mess. Just a clean up and a wrapping was going to be fine. At least then he wouldn’t be bleeding all over the place. The last thing anyone here needed was to slip on his blood and get hurt falling down.
After a moment, Kane reached out his hand, palm up, and allowed her to look at it. “Think I cut it on silver.” He admitted after a moment. The pain he had felt when first cutting his hand had been intense. He couldn’t be sure. At the time he had been reaching into a dark hole trying to grab someone out of said hole. What he had grabbed was jagged and sharp enough to cut him. “Might be why s’not healin’.” He mumbled more to himself than to her. Silver was a real son of a bitch. It wasn’t out of the question seeing as the bombing site was a human camp of sorts. They were bound to have some silver laying around.
“Thank ya.” Kane grumbled after a moment. “Didn’t have t’do all this.” He managed a small, tired, smile then.

He usually heard people coming. Usually he was aware of those that neared him, smells that he picked up on. However, he was so deep in thought that when another being bumped into him, the small wood carving bumped out of his hand and onto the ground.
He didn’t mind much. He looked down at the broken wolf on the ground and thought only of himself. That’s what he looked like. A wolf torn in half. Half with his instinct to be what he was created as, half with his desire to return to the magic he once had. He felt himself slipping, getting so lost in thought that he didn’t even realise the other person speaking.
Wolf.
Another like him. He watched as he pulled out his wallet, apologising, and Connell met his eyes, shaking his head slowly. “No need.” He said, his eyes dropping down to the broken wolf once more. “I don’t want it.” Now it seemed like an oxymoron to have a whole wolf when he was the broken one.
“It was an accident.” Was all he said, finally taking the time to assess the wolf in front of him. Younger, he could tell. In a pack? He doubted it. He felt something. He wasn’t sure what it was. A likeness. A commonality between them. Both Omegas. Both lost.
-
Since coming to this city, Kane hadn’t met a lot of other wolves. A few had come into The Workshop now and again but that didn’t really count. That was all business. It was his fault, mostly, that he hadn’t met anyone else. He spent most of his time in Fae territory. Not that it was a dangerous place for him to be but it wasn’t exactly crawling with his own kind. Sometimes he missed being with other wolves.
Sometimes he missed having someone who understood the dueling forces at play in the mind of a man who was half animal. Perhaps more than half in the case of Kane. He had spent more than half his life on four legs as apposed to two.
“Ya’ sure?” Kane asked with a raised eye brow. He nodded once again before turning to the shop owner. He paid for the broken wolf and left it at that. It was his fault it was broken in the first place. The poor wood worker shouldn’t have to pay for that.
Breathing in, Kane could tell just a few things from Connell. He was older, he wasn’t angry, and he was alone. Much like Kane had been when he first came here. Another wolf without a pack. “It was. Don’t mean I ain’t sorry for it.” Kane spoke more softly now. His head ducked, eyes dropped in submission. These little things were important to wolves. And the last thing Kane wanted was another fight. After a moment, his blue eyes flicked up to meet Connell’s gaze. “Ya’ new ‘round here? M’pretty new still. Jus’ don’t see a lot of us ‘round this part of town.”
sayahrosamalor:
Sayah couldn’t just stay indoors-she couldn’t. Yes she chose to not go to either the theater event or the birthday party but that was simply because she was tired and wanted to catch up on some journaling. Now…now Sayah wished she had done more to help. How exactly? Well the human wasn’t sure. But she knew sitting here in her small place that Haylee had been kind enough to find for her, was not going to help those in need.
Choosing to make her way towards the hospital, a place she assumed was the safest to start at, the human hadn’t expected to see the place exploding with people already there. I know it’s a hospital but damn these are a lot of people… Sayah didn’t know much about tending to wounds-not yet, but she offered her help in other ways: taking names down, finding and bringing friends or family together in this mess of people, or offering water and clean towels to those who needed it.
On one of those trips from gathering three more waters from the back, Sayah bumped her leg to the person closest to her and winced hoping she hadn’t woken him up. She had though. “I’m so so sorry! I didn’t mean to wake you…..um, no no they haven’t called your name yet. But I can go double check real quick if you’d like?” Biting her lip, her eyes glanced down at the water she was holding in her hands and offered a bottle out to him as an apology, “Water?”
Besides being completely wiped of energy, Kane was finding it hard to keep track of any one person in this place. Too many faces were coming and going. Too many hurt and not enough doctors to go around. The whole situation seemed typical of this city but they hadn’t seemed to have adapted to the climate of catastrophe. He did see a few people he’d pulled out from the explosion. Others that had been around needing help or helping others get out. But after awhile, they all just blurred together.
When he fell asleep, and he hadn’t meant to, Kane’s head slumped forwards. If felt like he’d just closed his eyes when the woman bumped into his leg. He looked up at her when she apologized to him. Shaking his head quickly, Kane held up his hand to stop her. “Nah, s’alright. Ain’t nothin’. Jus’ dozed off.” He promised her.
He must have looked like a mess. Ash, dirt and blood on his face. His shirt, hands and arms equally as dirty. The only place he was actually bleeding from was his hand. But, hell, from a far he must have looked bad. “S’okay.” Kane shook his head. His throat was very dry but someone else probably needed it more then he did. “Ya’ know wha’ time it is?”
sirenxsong:
Aftermath || Quentin / Kane
Since the night of the explosion, Quentin hadn’t felt so exhausted in centuries. He rarely used so much of his healing magic in one go, and on so many people especially when lately he’d been noticing his connection to the light way of magic was waning. He hadn’t been able to pinpoint why and hadn’t mentioned it to Kane so as not to worry his boyfriend.
The fae felt like he’d slept for a week, even if it had only been a day or so. He was still exhausted but decided it was finally time he got out of bed and tried to get back to some normality. He sat up, raking slender fingers through messy curls before glancing to the other side of the bed expecting to see Kane beside him.
@youngxblood
Kane had noticed that Quentin was especially tired lately. Yes, of course, he was expecting his Fae to be rather exhausted after spending a full night helping others. Kane himself had been exhausted once they got home. He, however, had recovered in a normal amount of time. Two good nights sleep and Kane was back, well, normal. Besides a few body aches but that was pretty normal. He wasn’t used to digging up people or carrying bodies as much as they has that night.
Quentin hadn’t been out of bed much at all for the last two days. By the time he had sat up, Kane was worried. He knew very little about magic and the toll using it could take on someone. Maybe Quen had pushed to hard? Maybe this was completely normal? Or totally abnormal? Either way, Kane had taken it upon himself to get them some food while Quentin slept in. He’d just kicked the front door open behind him when he heard sheets shuffling in the bedroom.
Pushing his boots off he padded down the hallway and smiled lightly at seeing Quen sat up. “Got breakfast.” He put a coffee and sandwich down on the bedside table for Quentin. Leaning over Kane pressed a soft kiss to Quen’s forehead. “Feel kinda cold Quen.” Kane mumbled as he sat down next to his boyfriend. “Ya’ feelin’ alright?”
Location: Hospital
Time: Post-event
Open: Everyone
After a night, a day, of searching through ruble Kane was thankful for the fact that he and Quentin had just gone home after the play. The explosion must have been terrible. God knows the after math was. They’d spent so many hours pulling wounded and dead from what remained of the humans hideout. What on earth had that man been thinking? Well, he couldn’t have been thinking much, could he? He hurt so many and killed others seemingly with out mercy. Surely some good people had been caught in that cross fire. The whole thing seemed to reckless. Foolish. If this didn’t start a war, nothing would.
Events like this where the exact reason Kane had stayed away from big cities for so long. He didn’t want to be involved. He didn’t want to be afraid for those closest to him. He didn’t want to fight.
The hospital waiting room was chaos as well. Or it had been when he arrived to get his hand stitched up. He’ hidden the cut from Quen. Poor guy had used so much of his healing magic before they left the scene. Kane could wait. He had waited till Quentin was asleep and then slipped out to wait in the hospital. They’d put a bandage over his wound when he first arrived and though it was a solid slice across his palm he wasn’t dying. So he sat. He watched people come and go all night before sometime in the morning, with his eyes half closed his knee was bumped.
“Huh?” Kane looked up, blinking. “They call for Kane?” He asked the closest person to him. His left hand pressed against his right one and holding it tight to keep the bleeding at bay. “S’been a long one.”

LOC — the streets of the haven
C A L A M I T Y. the city he had avoided for so many years. one he had frequented less than a handful of times, and left as quickly as he had surfaced. he wanted to pretend he had come for no reason this time; a nomad as he was, he had just stumbled upon the city once again. an accident.
a lie, of course. it might be easier to tell people that, but he knew, as would izyk, that he had come for his brother. he had spent enough years wallowing in his pity alone, needing solitude, needing quiet, to find his own idea of peace, but lately, the impact of the omega lifestyle left him weaker than normal. it was time to find his brother, find his pack.
he ventured to the haven first. from his brief time here in the past, he knew this might have been the safest place for him now. he knew he could find izyk, being able to track his scent from miles away, but something told him not to travel into the wolf territory just yet. not without invitation.
he walked through the streets, his eyes tracking as every being moved, any steps that were taken closer toward him than they were before, any one who looked at him for longer than the average glance. his attention was captivated for a moment, stopping in front of stall who carried small whittled carvings. his eyes traced over the contents, looking at the small wolves, the whittled pentagrams; his throat growing a lump as they ventured between the two.
he went to pick up the pentagram, flashbacks flickering through his mind and stopping him before picking it up. instead, he grabbed the wolf, as he was supposed to, bringing it closer to his face, examining the whittling of the fur on its body. “ how much? ”
If Kane knew anything, and he didn’t know much, it was a nomadic life style. After years trapped in his wolf form, he had gotten used to moving around from place to place. That had been the only way to live. Follow the game. If they moved south, so did he. If they moved north, he grew thicker fur. That was just how it worked out in the wild. You either adapted and lived or stayed the same and died. He supposed that went for this city as well. At fifty years old he had finally learnt to read and write. Well, he was still learning.
Slowly.
He wasn’t so good with directions yet. Kane was so used to relying on his nose to get him around but this city had to many scents. Too many people. Trying to find his way home from work was always a headache. No matter how many times he walked it. Be it the grease and oil and fumes from working with motors all day or the city itself, Kane always got lost.
When he bumped into the other wolf looking at a stall, Kane had been in deep thought. He’d been trying to pin down Quentin’s scent or the smell of the Bloom but he couldn’t manage it. His eyes had snapped open the second he ran into someone. The little carving he was holding fell and clattered to the ground. One of it’s ears broken off in the accident.
“Fuck.” Kane hissed as he bent down to pick it up. He gathered the pieces and looked at the man and then the stall owned. “M’good for it.” He scrambled to pull out his wallet. “Sorry. Was in m’head. I can get ya’ one too. Ain’t nothin’. S’my fault.” He apologized quickly and looked at the other wolf. “Really didn’t mean it.” He wasn’t used to being around other wolves yet. No, Kane was used to being on his own or with Quen. Everyone else... Was a mystery still.

His smirk only deepened at Quentin’s encouragement and how Kane seemed to stiffen up and then relax at Q’s interest in what Adonis was offering. “An expert, hm? I just bet they get the job done.” Now that they were both encouraging it, the young fae didn’t have to worry about his shame any longer. “Looking at them,” He stepped closer to the two of them, holding Kane’s hand between the three of them, “I bet that these fingers alone could make me cum. Is that accurate, Q?” Doni questioned, batting his eyelashes as though it was the most innocent and normal conversational question he’d ever asked.
“Please, dolls, I’m the single one. We can make it happen as many times as you like.” He grinned as he looked between them, bringing the wolves hand up to rest at the very bottom of his throat. He kept one hand softly on the hand there, but loose enough so Kane could move if he wanted to, and another came to hook a couple fingers under Quentin’s chin, thumb coming to brush along his lower lip.
“i don’t know about you, but i don’t want to wait until after the little humans let us out of this place. i’m not saying let’s go and fuck in a side room or bathroom, but we can at least play a little bit, no?” Adonis grinned at his own suggestion, biting down on his lower lip as he looked over the two. “Let me get on my knees for you and show you my pretty mouth, at least? A little taster, if you will.” @sirenxsong

Quentin had to admit he was a little surprised when Kane seemed interested, mostly because he hadn’t been expecting it, but he certainly wasn’t complaining, far from it. Q’s silver eyes seemed to light up with mischeif at the very thought of getting to enjoy not just his boyfriend but a moment with one of his best friends as well. Greedy didn’t seem like a strong enough word to encompass the sudden desire the ex-guard felt.
He met Kane’s gaze, held it for a moment, reading into it, asking through that shared look if he was certain before giving a slow smile, pressing even closer to his boyfriend’s side. “I can’t promise it won’t make me more greedy but I can promise you’ll enjoy the night very much my wolf.” Quentin purred, leaning in to capture Kane’s lips in a slow kiss for a moment before Quentin’s focus shifted to Doni.
It was probably never a good idea to become the fascination of two fae at once, their species were known for their trickery and games, but Kane was more than safe in Quentin’s hands. His lips parted when he felt Doni grip his chin, thumb tracing before Q teased the pad with his tongue. “As many times as we want is a dangerous offer to make me.” Q smirked as his own fingers tangled lightly in Doni’s hair, the other hand remaining pressed to Kane’s lower back. “We most definitely need to do something to pass the time until we can get the fuck out of here.”

While Kane did find the situation a bit overwhelming, it wasn’t a bad sort of overwhelming. Not at all. In fact his lack of focus came more from the fact that the two Fae’s bounced off each other so easily. He did his best to keep up with the conversation. His hand still in Doni’s then on his throat. His fingers slipped down to the hem of his collar, just brushing over the skin showing there. His eyes slipped back to Quentin when he spoke up, a small smile crossing his lips before they kissed.
Kissing Quentin back, a low hum left the back of Kane’s throat. it didn’t last nearly as long as Kane would have liked. “Can’t say no t’that.” He grunted. The couples attentions turned to Doni as Kane’s fingers curled around the collar of his shirt and pulled him in closer. He was about to grab a kiss of Doni as well but something else caught his attention.
Looking up past Doni, Kane’s blue eyes shot towards the stage. He saw the human in the noose. Heard the murmur in the crowd. The threats of death by some sort of gas? His hand loosened on Doni’s collar and dropped to his side. This was alot to take in. Too much. He’d seen others try the doors and windows earlier in the evening but they couldn’t get out. “Fuck-” Kane’s heart started to race as he looked to Quen. Shock ran through his body like boiling water. Hot at first and then cold with the weight of what that human had just said. This wasn’t fun anymore. This was fucking terrifying.“Gotta get ya’ out of here.” He hissed grabbing his boyfriends wrist. “Now.”

He had been focusing on Quentin so much that he hadn’t even noticed Kane coming over from the bar, returning to his boyfriends side. “Holy shit, Kane. You’re even hotter up close.” Adonis smirked as he shamelessly looked the wolf over, teeth sinking into his lower lip as he did. “And god, those hands–” He reached out to gently take the hand offered to him, shaking it before fingers brushed against the skin, turning them in his own hands, “You can tell that you work hard for a living, wolfie, the hands really show it. Those hands always feel the best when their touching you, don’t you think Q? The roughness of the skin just adds a whole other aspect to the board.”
In all honesty he’d already told himself he would flirt with Kane whether he found the man attractive or not, but dammit if Quentin didn’t know how to pick ‘em. “I bet you’re just hiding a hunk of muscle beneath that shirt too.” He didn’t let go of Kane’s hand, or break the eye contact with him as smirk turned to sly smile, wings fluttering behind Adonis like they always did when he got somewhat stimulated.
Hand even started to reach towards the wolf before Adonis caught himself and lowered it to his side, it wasn’t his wolf to play with as much as he would love to. He was sure that at least one of them wouldn’t appreciate Adonis’ fingers tangling through Kane’s hair, or his thumb brushing across the mans lower lip. “Mm, you’ve really outdone yourself with this one, Curly Q. If you ever wanna add a third for an evening, I better be near the top of that list.” @sirenxsong

Quentin gave a smile feeling Kane’s arm drape around his shoulders and watched the other two interact with a mixture of curiosity and amusement. He wasn’t surprised by Doni’s forward introduction or reaction and couldn’t help his soft little chuckle just listening to his friend talk to Kane. Of course Quen looked proud when Doni commented on how good looking Kane was because Kane was the most attractive man in the whole city to Q and he was very proud to get to call himself Kane’s boyfriend. “Oh you can tell Kane works with his hands Doni, he’s an expert with them.”
Quentin only chuckled more when he saw Doni’s wings flutter in excitement, knowing exactly what that meant. If Q had been a less assured man he might have disliked the flirting, but it didn’t phase him. He was secure in the knowledge that he and Kane were solid, no one was coming between them and Doni, while flirtatious by nature, was one of his best friends and respected Q enough not to stab him in the back. So the ex-guard found it all very entertaining.
“Of course D, you’re the top of the list. I couldn’t picture anyone else.” Quentin smiled, leaning in to press a kiss to Kane’s cheek to reassure him when he felt a little tension. The idea of having both Doni and Kane to play with did make Q’s own wings flutter. Usually Quentin had them glamoured away for ease, but for the night, while in his suit, he had them on show, a pair of huge luna moth wings. “Now that is a delicious idea, the two of you at once. Does that make me greedy?”

Just about the las thing that Kane expected from Quentin’s friend was flirtation. He was completely caught off guard when Doni took his hand and looked it over. Kane’s whole face went completely red as he glanced back at Quentin. He must have looked like a deer. One that just realized it was being hunted way to late to get away. His body stiffened up as the other went on but he didn’t pull his hand back. That would be rude, right? He didn’t want to be rude to one of Quen’s friends. Especially after what happened with Jasper. Not that Jasper was really a friend to Quentin but still. He didn’t need any more people in Q’s life that he had to actively avoid.
“Um,” Kane cleared his throat and tried to think. His brain suddenly felt like a pile of useless mush. “Thanks. They-uh- they get the job done.” He managed to get out before Quentin spoke up. Blinking a few times, Kane looked between the two of them. Oh. Oh. He was into it. Quentin was into this. Okay. That changed things. Letting out a breath he hadn’t meant to hold in, Kane’s shoulders relaxed some. Good, okay. This wasn’t crossing any lines. It was okay to like this attention that they were both giving him.
In fact, Doni wasn’t really flirting with Kane. He was flirting with both of them. Quentin and himself. That changed things. That was much easier to manage. “Jus’ a little. Ain’t a bad thing though.” He gave Quentin a small smile and a slight nod. Yup, whatever these two were thinking, Kane could get on aboard with. Doni was attractive after all. Having the two of them, however that would work, sounded like a pretty fun time to Kane. “Think we can probably make tha’ happen for ya’, Q. S’long as it don’t make ya’ even more greedy.” He teased lightly. Leaning in he pressed a kiss to Quentin’s temple, his blue eyes sliding to Doni to watch his reaction.

“Oh really?” Adonis asked with a sly grin, certainly ready for the challenge. He would hope that his best friends boyfriend wouldn’t flirt back, or at the very least would only partake in harmless flirting with him and nothing else but it would certainly be fun to see what would happen. The grin dropped though when he noticed the jealousy that seemed to rush through Quentin, “That little dickhead was never good enough for you. Do not waste your emotions on him, Quentin Miles. You have nothing to be jealous of anymore, considering who you have in your life now.” He attempted to remind him, trying to ground him again and take away his anger.
“Why would I ever treat him like an idiot? Ohhh, rustic is a cute way of saying uneducated, right? Don’t you worry, Q, he’s safe with me. He means a lot to you, I can tell that, so he’s safe with me.” He meant it too, of course he would flirt with or without his friends permission but he did have permission so that would be a worry crossed off his list. He certainly didn’t want Q’s jealousy aimed at him if what he just saw was how the man got.

Quentin nodded and tossed all thoughts of Jasper out of his mind, not wanting to waste any energy thinking about him or their complicated his past. Doni was right, he had Kane and Quentin couldn’t be happier with his boyfriend. “You’re right, I really don’t. Besides things between me and him were never serious, it was complicated and a mistake. He clearly never thinks about it.” Q replied with a decided nod.
The ex-guard felt bad when Doni called Kane uneducated, he didn’t like that way to describe his wolf, but Quentin was so proud of the leaps and bounds Kane had made with his reading and writing since Q had been teaching him. “He’s very smart, more so than he’d ever admit to, I just don’t like it when people make him feel dumb because he doesn’t get what others might consider ‘simple’ things.” Quentin said, but smiled when Doni promised he wouldn’t make Kane feel that way. When the wolf finally came back from the bar, Q’s smile grew, wrapping one arm around his waist. “Hi babe, this is my friend Doni.” He introduced the two.
@youngxblood
The line was moved incredibly slowly. Who ever was up at the front had been arguing with the bar tender for the last fifteen minutes and Kane wasn’t ready to wait another fifteen for a beer. It just wasn’t worth it. Not when he could be sitting with Quentin. That first act really had been odd. No doubt the second would be just as weird. Kane had thought that maybe he was missing something but upon talking to Quen about it afterwards it seemed he hadn’t been. Good. Nice to know he wasn’t alone in his confusion.
Fed up with waiting, Kane stepped out of line and started back towards were he left Quentin. Seeing him with someone else had Kane’s eye brow raised but Quentin seemed happy enough. The smile on his face was still bright and his posture was relaxed. They must have been friends. Hopefully this friend wasn’t anything like Jasper.
As he drew closer a slight tension started to build in Kane’s shoulders. Quentin hadn’t been lying when he said he was wary of strangers. The arm around his waist did ease him some. “Doni,” Kane drawled out the new mans name and offered him his free hand as the other draped over Quentin’s shoulders. “M’Kane. S’nice t’meet one of Q’s friends.” He gave the other a small smile and tried not to come off as too uncomfortable.

Quentin smiled warmly when Kane said the place wasn’t so bad. It was certainly a quieter vibe than the club and Q enjoyed that despite the fact that the whole thing was arranged by humans. While Quentin wasn’t sure he’d ever be able to truly stomach humans after what they had taken from him, his father and beautiful mother both slaughtered by hunters, Quentin seeking revenge at his own hand, slaughtering every single person involved, he could tolerate humans enough to attend at least this event.
“I’d never leave you, only for like five minutes to tease you.” Q chuckled his smile playful as he wrapped one arm around Kane’s waist to keep them close, pressing his nose against the wolf’s neck.
When his boyfriend stepped back to look at him better, Quentin chuckled doing a little slow turn to give him the full view before happily returning to their earlier closeness. He couldn’t help the little shiver of pleasure feeling Kane’s hot breath against his ear and his grin only growing at the wolf’s whispered words. “Oh it will look good there later tonight, I can promise you that.” Q smirked. He loved that Kane was getting better at flirting, coming into his own and feeling more confident with all things sexual. It was such a turn on to see that side of his boyfriend blossom. Q couldn’t help himself but curl his fingers around his boyfriend’s tie to tug him into a kiss.

It was sort of odd that the humans would willingly ask all the supernaturals to gather up. Sure, not all of them were hunters but the invite they’d gotten didn’t exactly state who was running the show. Or at least not that Kane could remember. The whole area smelt... funny. A mix of so many strong scents all in one place. Focusing on one of them was nearly impossible. Kane tried not to focus on anything but Quen’s smell. That was the only one that mattered.
Shaking his head, Kane smiled and pretended to be annoyed with the idea of Quen leaving him for five minutes. “I’d be a mess by the time ya’d get back.” He joked right back as Quentin held him close. He’d always liked this side of Quentin. The easy going, playful, funny side. It didn’t often show itself but when the time was right, Kane soaked it up.
A small, breathy, laugh left Kane’s lips as Q met his banter with his own promise. He was about to step back and take Quentin’s hand, lead him to their seats but he didn’t get that far. Instead he was tugged back into a quick kiss. A happy sigh slipped out as Kane touched Q’s neck with one hand softly, the other twisted their fingers together. Letting his head fall back, Kane nodded towards the seating. “Come’on. Before we start makin’ people jealous.” He tugged Quentin towards there seats and sat down next to him once they’d found their place.

While Q was no stranger to events that meant he needed to get dressed up, he wasn’t someone who often frequented them unless he had to, however there were occasions where he enjoyed an evening spent looking nice and doing something that wasn’t working. Despite being the workaholic that he was and always had been even when he was a guard, Quentin did actually enjoy looking and feeling good. The suit he’d chosen was one of his favourites, rich silver fabric that shimmered soft pink hues just like Quentin’s eyes.
But the real joy of the evening was the fact that he got to spend it with Kane at his side. If his boyfriend had not wanted to attend, Quentin wouldn’t have forced him, but he was glad not to come to the event alone. He chuckled softly at Kane’s comment and took the drink he was offered, placing a reassuring kiss to his boyfriend’s cheek. “I’d say you get used to them but I promise not to drag you to fancy events all the time.” He said, smile growing wider at the compliment. “You like it? I’ll admit this suit is one of my favourites. It’s enchanted with a little magic, that’s what makes it shimmer and it feels really good to touch,”
Really, Kane didn’t mind being out here too much. It wasn’t as crowded as the party they’d been too a while ago. Hell, it wasn’t nearly as loud. That’s what really had gotten under Kane’s skin. That pounding music had been horrible after a while. Thankfully, Quentin had been down to ditch the place early and get back to their beloved home. It was still so hard to believe that Kane lived with Quentin. Well, not officially but he couldn’t remember the last time he’d slept at his place over night. Why would he ever do that when he was welcome to sleep with Quen?
Shaking his head, Kane glanced around the scattered groups of mingling people. “Ain’t so bad.” He promised his better half with a smile. “Mean, if ya’ leave me, I don’t know whatt’d do but till then- S’not so bad.” Kane assured Quentin before taking a sip of his bar. He’d much rather be here with Quen than home doing... Nothing? Working on his reading and writing most likely. That was coming along alright. Quen was a great teacher, Kane just wished he could learn faster.
“Looks amazin’” Kane assured Quentin as he stepped back to take the whole picture in. Quen in his shimmering suit. The whole thing was gorgeous, head to toe. And the suite wasn’t bad either. Stepping back to Quentin, Kane pressed his lips to the others ear for a moment, just so he could quickly whisper something to him. “Only place it’d look better is on our bedroom floor.” He teased lightly and pulled back with a soft smile on his face. What? he was getting better at this whole flirting thing, okay?
