Does anyone else tend to romanticize people in your life as if you were writing about characters in a book? You'll be with someone and suddenly you experience everything about them in prose. Your internal narration fixates on the tone of their voice or their eyelashes or the way they tilt their head. Suddenly their gait or their hair or their the way they laugh has all your attention. I recently told my boyfriend that I think about him this way and he admitted that he does the exact same thing. Maybe thats just how all people think about who they love. Maybe authors are in love with everything they write about.
