Some Zabuza and a Baby Haku
“listen, i know you don’t want to, but.. maybe you should rest for a while. you’re not going to get anywhere like this.” //yukixhaku//
Zabuza turned around steadily and glared at Haku. No expression being visible, only blood dripping from the sizable gash right above his left eye proved Haku right.
“I’ll be fine.” Zabuza stated, almost offensively.
Despite the numerous lacerates that littered his arms and torso, he wasn’t going to let a little bit of discomfort get to him. Even with crimson red drops of blood leaving a pool beneath him, he didn’t care. But he will admit, taking another step, especially while carrying this hefty sword of his was unfortunately becoming a bit of challenge...
Stubborn as always - the boy thought and just shook his head. Haku already saw this won't get him far. Zabuza's stubbornness led to danger countless times. He would never admit weakness, never show pain or any kind of emotions and more importantly he'd never ask for help. But Haku knew him well enough, saving his life wasn't new to him. Despite looking young and fragile he could pick up Zabuza and carry him without a problem.
The young boy crossed his arms, watching Zabuza trying to walk away. "Let's see how far do you get." He rolled his eyes, but he was ready to catch Zabuza in case he would fall.
Zabuza smirked only slightly, his mask of bandages hiding his reaction well, at least he thought. “Hmpf.”
He knew he didn’t have much to worry about. Haku was strong, almost stronger than he was, but he would never admit that. Like he wouldn’t admit that maybe the boy was right...
He sighed heavily, feeling his already aching wounds only get worse. He knew it, he wasn’t stupid, he knew that walking would only tear his lesions more. But he didn’t like asking for help, that’s not how he was raised. Ninja of Kirigakure never asked for help.
Despite his ego telling him no, the better side of him just knew Haku was right. His blood was already leaving a trail, one that could lure in enemies of all sorts. That wouldn’t benefit neither him, or Haku at all.
Zabuza proceeded to turn his head slightly, enough that he could see the expression on Haku’s face. He hung is a little lower this time. His partner most likely already knew what was coming. He only hesitated, blood soaked clothes definitely making some kind of statement, his hair matted with blood and dirt.
“...Where’s the nearest Inn...”
Sure took him long enough.
They boy knew his master will give up soon. He always tried to act strong, but with these injuries it was unnecessary. No one would stay alive too long if they kept going like this and Zabuza didn't plan to die here and now.
Haku has always been worried about the older. Sure he was he had no one else in the world, Zabuza was like his father the only person he could count on. And Haku was the only one Zabuza could count on. Now the older needed help, no matter how tough he tried to be. And finally after a few steps he asked him about the nearest inn.
"I'll take you there."
Within a second he showed up next to Zabuza, carefully wrapping an arm around his waist and disappeared with him. Faster they get there the faster he can take care of his wounds. It didn't matter how much chakra it used to teleport himself somewhere together with Zabuza.
As soon as they got to the inn he took a deep breath. "We're here."
Zabuza looked up at the Inn’s sign. Some cheap motel with a broken sign, and a run down exterior. Better than the housing situations in Kirigakure, he thought. These wounds needed mending to, he had to finish what he came here to do. If he couldn’t do that, what kind of person could he be? A failure to the legacy of Mist Ninja.
The inside of the old Inn was rustic. It smelt worse than Yagura. But it would do, he wasn’t too picky. Getting the key to their room was a pain in the ass too, the man at the front desk just kept staring, Zabuza wanted so badly to turn him inside out. But that wouldn’t go down to well with Haku, who was much more of a pacifist.
“Hurry up. I don’t like the way this guy is looking at us.” Zabuza told Haku, while staring directly at the front desk manager. He didn’t bother to keep his voice too low.
Entering the inn he hurried to the desk to get the keys. They had no time to waste. The owner looked suspicious, indeed and Haku didn't like it, but they had no choice. The boy made up a believable lie about them being on a mission from Kirigakure and needed to take care of their wounds. The guy seemed to believe it, hopefully he won't notify the Mizukage, he didn't want to deal with the Anbu in their neck now.
As soon as he got the key he took Zabuza in their room. "I think he believed me. We'll be safe for a short while at least." He smiled and helped Zabuza to sit on the bed, opening his backpack and took some tools out. He helped him to undress, seeing his injuries it seemed more serious than he thought.
"I have to clean and stitch those." He tried to stay as calm as it was possible.
“listen, i know you don’t want to, but.. maybe you should rest for a while. you’re not going to get anywhere like this.” //yukixhaku//

“What were you thinking?!” - naruto, sxn-gxfted.
“Thinking? I’m told what to do. I don’t have to think about it.”
naruto frowned, his eyes squinting as he looked at the other boy. “you coulda died, ‘ttebayo! you didn’t have to use your body as a shield for your master no-brow! he’s fine, and so are you…” he folded his arms. “you’re a confusing person, ttebayo.”
he sat on a chair at haku’s bedside, as the boy was recovering from the fight with gato. thankfully kakashi-sensei had missed his vital spot by two inches…
he sighed heavily.
Haku took a deep breath and looked away.
“Wouldn’t you do the same? For your friends or for your teacher? Would you hesitate, knowing their life is in danger and you don’t have time to think or it might be too late? What would you do then?”
He closed his eyes for a moment, feeling a teardrop rolling down his cheek.
his fists clenched. haku was right. he would do the same for his teammates and for kakashi-sensei. but…he hated to see someone like this - someone so selfless, someone so pure - throwing his life away.
“of course i would, ‘ttebayo. in a heartbeat i would.” he took a deep breath, bringing his right hand to his heart in a fist. “but…i won’t let you do that again.
“you’ll have me to count on, next time.”
"Count on you?"
His eyes widened and shook his head.
"Why would you do that? Why would you help a stranger who supposed to be your enemy? I tried to kill you all..."
He couldn't understand Naruto, but at the same time he was so much like him. Pure and kind, trying to save people.

yukixhaku
Haku looked at her, he knew she was confused and had no idea what happens and why. He couldn’t tell her either, he just let Itachi do his thing and he followed orders as always.
kiri was her homeland. the name was familiar, but her head felt like it had been shaken empty. stepping blindly through the mist, the only thing she could do was keep her eyes on the tall long-haired man and the monstrous half-shark holding a sword.
the ground was almost invisible because of the fog, so she accidentally stepped on a stone and stumbled, bumping into the short boy with the long hair.
‘g-gomen…”
damn it, why couldn’t she remember their names?
He caught her before she fell.
"It'a okay, the mist is thick, it's hard to see."
He was trained to fight in such circumstances, he mastered the silent killing, so moving in the fog didn't really bother him. What was strange is that he knew this area of the forest and it's never been this foggy before. Someone might uses a jutsu. They had to be careful. The attack can come anytime as a surprise.
@yukixhaku liked for an angst! starter!
the seas were angry. it was storming violently, wind snarling, rain flaring through the forest. it sounded like the sky was screaming.
part of this screaming was a voice. an enraged voice, howling with the wind like a dog baying at a carcass.
from a nearby lake, a white-haired demon surfaced, screaming with despair into the storm.
“why did you take him from me?!”
Haku heard the desperate scream from afar. It sounded really painful. He got up, taking a quick look at his sleeping master and run towards the source of the sound.
As he arrived to the lake he saw the white haired boy and stepped closer to him.
“Are you okay? What happened?”
rain was falling on his shoulders as he raised his violet eyes to look at the kid on the bank of the pond. his face was anguished and enraged as he glowered at haku, forehead wrinkled like the surface of the tumultuous sea.
“my brother’s dead.”
He knelt dowm next to him. He never had a sibling, but he lost people important to him so he exactly knew how he felt.
“I’m sorry. Come with me. You shouldn’t be alone in this state. I’m sure my master won’t mind it.”
his eyes were narrowed at the words, analyzing the other boy. he seemed to understand something, deep inside.
“who’s your master?”
“Zabuza Momochi.”
He answered, the boy seemed somehow familiar to him, but his memories were blurry.
his eyes widened. “your master…is zabuza-daisenpai? the swordsman?”
he moved closer to the bank of the pond, about to crawl out. “who are you?”
“Senpai?” He looked at the boy curiously.
“Yes, it’s him. My name is Haku.” He smiled bit, seeing the other boy excited was a good sign.
“yeah, zabuza-daisenpai is one of the seven deadly swordsmen, like we wanted to be,” he said, as he crawled out of the lake. he looked like he was made of water. “or..well, i want to be, now.”
he shook his head. “it’s nice to meet you. and thanks for caring.”
Haku bowed his head some.
“Then I’m sure he won’t mind teaching you. He likes ambitious people.”
He seemed to have an amazing ability as well. He hoped Zabuza won’t mind him.
he looked at haku with wide, iris-flower eyes, mouth slightly open with confusion. “he…won’t mind…?”
he slowly got up. he was smaller than haku, but it didn’t bother him.
“you’re not scared of me?”
"Scared? Why would i be scared of you?"
Haku was a brave boy, but he was strong and he could protect himself and his master. He wasn't scared of anything or anyone. People were scared of him, considering him a monster, just like Zabuza. They already did when he was younger, when he couldn't hurt anyone, when he didn't even know what he was capable to. His life was hard, but he wasn't scared of death.

kisame-the-shark
“Right.”
He smirked. This will be interesting.
“Kids, let’s get going.”
He growled and grabbed Samehada, carrying it on his shoulder.
inochi didn’t know what they were going to do, really. it was too confusing. she felt drunk, not remembering anything. had she eaten something bad and gotten sick? they were going to get a beast from the mizukage? she didn’t understand but she was there to follow orders, and that only. she followed quietly.
Haku looked at her, he knew she was confused and had no idea what happens and why. He couldn't tell her either, he just let Itachi do his thing and he followed orders as always.
