Rooftops in the Mist, New York City by Margery Ryerson
This oil painting resembles a foggy dream to me. NYC represents an ideal career in the business firms which is where everything begins. However, NYC is shrouded with fog and you can barely make out where the buildings are. This shows that the ideal dream is not visible to the audience. Thus, his or her true dream has not been identified. It's a question of where do you want to go instead of where are you going? The destinations of these two places are complete opposites. Perhaps the dimmed light in the center can guide the way. Perhaps that is your fated destination.
What is your dream and where are going? Are they on the same path or are they one different paths? Which will you choose?
Raw Footage (doc film)
I have collected 15 minutes of interview on Morales.
I plan on re-watching the interview and select usable questions and answers on the film such as:
- cutting out area of my dogs barking, distracting Morales, playing with him, and whining. (however, there will be some I will not cut out.)
- removing the echo of Morales’s voice and making it louder. (maybe removing my voice and use text instead.)
- re-ordering the questions and answers so that it is more linear because we went out of order when filming. (more like there wasn’t an order to begin with.)
I want to use all of the film, but that won’t be possible because the film can only be 3-7 minutes long. Also, I still need to interview my mom and insert archival pictures and videos. Also some of the questions I asked him are repetitive, not to say he rambled a bit is a few questions that people do not need to know. (He got off topic.)
Honestly, I’m not sure exactly which part I will be using and why because the tone of the interview that he set up is very relaxed and comical. So I might not even use it if it doesn’t mesh with my mom’s tone and the film’s tone. Or I’ll just dump it in there and see what effect it will make. I’m seriously just going with the flow because planning out the doc film is hard because it need to be natural. that’s also why I’m filming them without warning.
