“I-it’s been quite quiet around here. Hasn’t it, Niel?” Jasmine asked her Steelix.
He gave a grunt in reply, moving along the beach with his trainer riding atop him.
Jasmine could tell he’d been getting restless, cooped up in her gym with hardly any challengers as of late. It was time they got out for a while.
The residents of Olivine were hardly phased by the small girl on the back of a Steelix. To them, it was just Jasmine their Gym Leader and they knew Niel to be perfectly harmless. The tourists that may have been relaxing on the beach, however, may have been a bit startled at this sight. Jasmine wasn’t exactly the outgoing type. She had no plans to greet anyone on the beach and assure them their safety. She just simply stayed where she was, only speaking to her giant, steel, snake every once in a while.
“It… it would be nice if we could find a good battle,” she whispered to herself.
Part of her was wondering how her friends were doing. Jasmine hadn’t seen anyone in a month or so. She didn’t know how Whitney went without pestering her to hang out, but figured it had something to do with her boyfriend, Falkner — which was perfectly okay with Jasmine. She was happy for them and admired the good, loving relationship her two friends shared.
As Jasmine and Niel the Steelix reached Olivine’s lighthouse, she gently placed a hand on the side of his face.
“You can stop here, Niel.”
He did, perching atop of the lighthouse’s cliff.
“Isn’t the view beautiful…?”
Jasmine looked out at the ocean, spotting some darker clouds in the distance.
“Oh my,” she murmured. “It looks like we… we might have some storms rolling in. Shall… shall we stay to watch them?”
