okay okay okay. first things first, 19 is one of the only numberblocks we canonically see being insecure (we literally have an entire sequence in her namesake episode where she tries to be a rectangle and the first line in her song is “I wish I could be like 18”)
Now, over the course of the rest of the episode, we see 19 embracing herself because she finds out she can make crazy shapes and calls herself unique. BUT the thing with insecurity is that it tends to stick with you, even if you don’t even notice it. Like it’s always at the back of ur mind.
And 28 is exactly what brings out that insecurity again.
Because in 28’s introduction episode, she calls herself a “pattern pioneer”. But the thing is, at the heart of it, 28 can also make crazy shapes. Okay, no problem, right? Lots of numberblocks share similar traits!
EXCEPT 28 is a super rectangle. The ONE thing 19’s always wanted to be deep down
I’ve been justifying 19’s absence after season 6 using this. in my AU, our girl is spiraling badly and becoming a lot more withdrawn, and it’s gotten to a point where she wants to be 28. She wants to be a super rectangle now more than ever, and prime positions aren’t doing it anymore
HOWEVER if 19 were to get her wish and become a super rectangle, even temporarily, another super rectangle would have to lose their powers (bc the universe requires balance or smth idk)
Ophee's Numberblocks AU: Creation of the Terrible Twos
(takes place before Series 1)
Disclaimer: In this AU, the Numberblocks (or at least 0-10) have existed before whatever time Series 1 takes in, but they weren't really united at that time so uhh
gonna be explained stupidly though because I can't english sometimes, also some points in this thing don't have proper reasons behind them
Two and Four (the "default" ones) were captured & knocked out & then taken to some lab.
For the creation of the Terrible Twos, Two was duplicated using the magic mirror to make 2 more Twos. Those twos' numberlings were modified to give them their mischievousness (They were duplicates, so the original Two isn't affected). Their appearances were also changed.
For making Four (Default 4) split into the Terrible Twos, they uhh did sorcery or some shi to this equation set in him, 4=2+2, to make it 4=2+2, but instead it would be either 4=2+2 or 4=2+2*
also, it gave him some amnesia so he didn't recognise Two for a while. (in this AU they've met before, also he obviously now recognises him but not as in that he's able to recall meeting him before, he only just relearned him or smth)
Anyways, they erased the memories of Two & Four being kidnapped & returned them
Also, when I called Two and Four, "the 'default' ones," and I said that the Terrible Twos were "duplicates" and their numberlings were modified, I'll get to that right now. Here's the link
*Normal duplicated 4s chances to form 4=2+2 are little to none.
About "default" & "modified" Numberblocks (based on their Numberlings)
Disclaimer: In this AU, the Numberblocks (or at least 0-10) have existed before whatever time Series 1 takes in, but they weren't really united at that time so uhh yeah!
Modified Numberlings in pic: 2 (Terrible Two 1), 2 (Terrible Two 2)
Default Numberblocks are the Numberblocks which their normal duplicated versions (Example: the 16 Fours from 64) take the physical form of.
The numberlings were first made by using the ink and quilt which were similar to the ones from the room behind Seven's bookshelf in S5E2 (but for the origin of the Numberblocks themselves, uhh idk Infinity just spawned them in)
The default Numberblocks's numberlings can also get modified (only in Four and Eight rn) but they're not classified as modified Numberblocks. It is possible for those modifications to exist in their normal duplicates as well but it's unlikely since they only really take their physical forms.
Modified Numberblocks are originally duplicate Numberblocks which had their Numberlings modified. They don't take Default Numberblocks' forms but their own instead. They can be either natural/formed by Infinity (Terrific Twos, Rainbow Eights, etc.) or artificial (Terrible Twos and Octonaughty)
Also, 0's numberling is empty on the inside so it can't be modified (and also because she canonically doesn't have any blocks so she couldn't be even duplicated in the first place)
