Anaki was impressed with how seemingly well Sayuri was following along with her explanations. For someone who knew nothing about technology, she managed to at least make it seem like she had a clue of what it was like.

"Haha, that’d definitely be somethin’. Guess the closest way t’ relate proxies to real life’d be somethin’ like a disguise or fake identity, or like…usin’ someone else to do your work for ya, ‘cept proxies are a hell of a lot simpler t’ make an’ use from what I can understand."

She nodded slowly, listening to Sayuri’s own explanation with her thumbs looped in her pockets.

"Yeah, seems t’ be the case for a lotta illegal types around here. They think they’d never gt caught, then a school finds out about ‘em through some unknown means an’ invites ‘em here instead of turnin’ them in. Maybe we’ll figure it out someday, who fuckin’ knows…"

Sayuri nodded thoughtfully at Anaki. It appeared there were more "illegal" shsl within the school than she had thought. She pondered for a second if the school was encouraging the crime syndicate for their own illegal means. This thought was quickly abolished, however, purely for being outrageous and preposterous. There was something Anaki said that did perk her interest, however.

Ah, yes. I understand the "proxies" to a much better level now. I am fairly use to using subordinates to have goals accomplished; fools not linked to my family nor me individually therefore leaving no trace of my handiwork. It is not common I use them, however, I that analogy made it much more clear to me. Thank you, Anaki-san. Regarding a 'fake identity'. I think it would be best for me to develop one of my own. That being said, my family is very, well, precious to me. Addressing myself as another name may present itself with some... difficulty. How did you adjust? How long did you have to hear the word "anaki" before you started to respond to it? Perhaps using it as your online pseudonym assisted in this? What are your thoughts? I apologize for striking you with such inquire, I am just fairly curious and rather make sure I am well informed before attempting to use a false name for the sake of keeping my work unknown to those who do not need to know.

Sayuri brought her hand up and pushed a lock of hair behind her ear before looking back up at Anaki. It had been a while since there was someone she was learning something new from. Generally, her newly acquired knowledge came more from books than another human, mostly because humans lie and their information is not quite as reliable. This girl, however, something about her made her seem trustworthy. Not that Sayuri would put any faith in the sense of security she felt while talking to the girl, but, it was worth enough to divulge her inquire to before getting a second opinion from her sources.

Taka quickly hurried after Yoko, obviously really happy about hanging out with the girl. Really he didn’t get to talk to many people outside of class, always hurrying straight back to his room after class, plus he didn’t really have any friends so even when he did come out to eat he didn’t really have anyone to eat with. Really he needed to kick that habit, it got so lonely just being alone most of the time, especially now that his parents weren’t around.

"Yeah, I’ve been here a little while now and I still get lost sometimes."

Just like he was now. The area was starting to grow more familiar though as they walked so at least there was that, he was pretty sure he knew where they were now.

"Really? Wow, you must be really smart then."

Taka had absolutely no idea Yoko wasn’t aware that, aside from being filled with prodigies and helping said prodigies become even better at what they were already great at, Hope’s Peak was really just like any other school. Sure it was huge and sure the education itself was amazing but they still had the same classes and stuff.

"Oh wow, that’s really cool. Though yeah, I’ve been training for about…ten years now I think? I’ve only actually been fighting since I was eleven though."

Only.

At the wink though Taka went bright red, quite surprised by the sudden action.

Yoko continued to walk through the halls. Akahina was not joking about people getting lost. She had a fairly good sense of direction, however, the second they turned a corner she could have sworn they had gone in a circle. She shook her head to reorient herself. Logically, this was the first corner they had turned so it was impossible for them to have gone a full circle.

She continued walking, listening to Taka as he spoke.

Hohoho, I appreciate the assumption, but, I ain't that smart, you know? Pretty average if you ask me. I am actually a bit worried about my classes, assuming they are gonna be harder than the classes I took back home. I'm sure I'll do fine, I'll adjust I'm sure. Just, yeah... I'm no the best at studying. I usually get distracted and blog for a bit or watch some t.v. instead. My notes are bad too, so, ayy...

She gave a little giggle, internally hoping she can find a good study group while at the school to help her with her academics.

Only since you were eleven, ay? Well; that is still a lot more experienced than I will ever be. Ten years of training is nothing to bat your eyes at either. That is some serious devotion. Kudos, Akahina-san!

She turned another hallway, hoping to find a flight of stairs soon. In all honesty she decided it might be best to actually know where she was going. She pulled up her phone and quickly pulled out an app she downloaded with the school's layout neatly printed on her tiny screen. There, much better. Whoever designed this school seriously needs to work on their architectural skills.

He then went on to really get down to it and analyze the situation. Natsuki merely paused, listening to his speak. Through the powers of deduction - huzzah! - he came to the conclusion that the school had rice. Why he needed to work that out, well, Natsuki didn’t know. The more they spoke, the more differences Natsuki noticed between them. Should she run after talking to him and getting her phone fixed up?

Eh, probably not. He seemed harmless, at least.

As he explained his last name, Natsuki nodded slowly while still looking around. Salt and pepper and other condiments and herbs. Nice. But at least Natsuki was right - part Spaniard. Huh. Neat! He definitely wasn’t lying, though, about his name being difficult to pronounce.

"Yeeeah, you weren’t kidding! I’d probably butcher that name. Def just gonna stick to Kozure."

Then he found the rice! So, obviously, he was much more prepared than she was. Nice. Now they needed a bag.

"Ooh! I already saw that!"

Going back to a cupboard she’d checked earlier, she bounced up to Kozure with a plastic bag, big enough to fit her phone and a good amount of rice.

"So, what, just throw the phone in there with a bunch of rice and… Hope for the best?"

Not waiting for a response, Natsuki dropped her phone into the bag.

Huzzah. It seemed Natsuki already knew the locations of the bags. He waited for her to bring the bag over before turning to the rice to grave the measuring cup. He thought it might be best not to waste too much rice.

As he held the measuring scoop in one hand he watch her fairly unamused as she just dropped her phone in the bag without giving him a second to respond.

Well, if you want the least successful results than just placing your phone in the bag is ideal. However, if you desire to use your phone to the fullest of its restored capabilities, I would suggest opening it and taking out the battery and sim card. We should also put the rice in first, then the phone, then more rice so it is covered. This is, of course, based on speculation. I may be mistaken and your method may provide the best results; however, I don't believe it would be wise to experiment on such factors with this phone, considering it your only phone, correct?

Kozure pulled the phone out of the bag and handed it back to Natsuki before scooping a good amount of rice and dropping it into the bag.

He didn't feel like telling her this method took nearly 24 hours to ensure optimal results. He decided he might as well say something, however. A compliment? More sarcastic insults? More condescending tone?

...You hoodie is very nice. Green, and shades there of, are my favourite colours. I'm also quite the fan of, well, camouflage print. I don't see many wearing it in the school. Something about it having gone out of fashion in the early 2000's or something bizarre like that.

He scooped another scoop of rice out, ready to cover the phone when Natsuki placed it back into the bag.

Honestly, Kaede found the invitation a little odd — they just met, didn’t they? Well, maybe stuff like that was a little more lenient in… well, Kaede didn’t really know where Dierk was from, but with a name like that she had to assume he was at least partially foreign. 

Whatever, Kaede was no expert at that kinda thing. Not to mention the whole “some guy had a bear as a pet?? fucking incredible” deal caught her attention entirely, before she said anything else on the previous matter.

"Woooaaah… a bear? Like… a whole bear… that’s crazy, man. Hope th’ guy with it takes good care ‘f it…"

She kinda… loses herself in thought over it for a few seconds. A guy with one (1) whole bear as a pet?? How would it’s owner make room for it? What food would he get for it? 

Those questions and similar ones ran through her head until she snapped back to reality with a question in regards to talents.

"A card gamer…? Like… that one where ya have th’ cards flipped down and gotta find th’ pairs?"

"…Oh, me? I, uh… well, ya know what parkour is…? That’s… that’s what I do, basically.

'f ya don't know, 's, like… when yer runnin', 'nd ya gotta do, like, flips 'n jumps 'n shit t' get 'round things. Kinda like… constant obstacle course, or somethin'… gettin' from a place t' 'nother as fast as ya can.”

…So maybe ninja wasn’t too far off. Maybe.

Dierk couldn't help but giggle a little at Kaede's response to having a bear for a pet. He had had a similar reaction when he read the article explaining the story. Sure, he happened to leave off that the bear was a trained American Hollywood bear featured in movies and such. That may have made the ridiculous statement more realistic, but who really cared. Trained or not a bear for a pet was something Dierk aspired to have.

The small giggle turned into a muffled laugh as Kaede described a matching game as a card game. How belittling of his talent. He'd have to keep that beautiful description handy when trying to sarcastically define his talent to someone.

They had arrived at his room before he got a chance to reply to Kaede. He fished in his pocket for his room key.

Well, matching cards is technically a card game, so, you're sort of right... but, I'm more of a poker, solitaire or competitive collecting card game card gamer.

Card game card gamer. What a lovely alliteration that was. He'd have to avoid saying that ten times fast.

But, uhh, I've never heard of Parkour, so, describing it sort of helps me understand, kind of. You'll have to show me sometime. I guess your talent helped you slip through that crowd, right?

He scanned his room key and opened his door, holding it for Kaede to enter first with Piques before entering behind her.

He removed his boots before walking too far into his room, revealing his pulled up red and black socks. It was clear Dierk's favourite colour was definitely red or shades there of. His room was tidy to some degree, a discarded pair of pajamas laying on the ground and a few books scattered on the desk next to a plugged in laptop, however, aside from that everything was put away. His bed, however, was fairly untidy. The dark red pillows looked fairly recently used (likely by the cat) and if Kaede looked carefully enough before Dierk rushed to the bed and shoved it beneath the rolled up, cat hair covered, red blanket she would have noticed a teddy bear with glow-in-the-dark paws wearing a shirt with the colours of the German flag.

His bathroom smelled a lot like air-freshener, likely to conceal the slightest odor of the litter box within it. A small container of dry cat food sat beside a red, heart shaped food dish, which had a matching, black, spade shaped water dish beside it.

Dierk cleared his throat.

Feel free to make yourself at home. The computer chair is a comfy seat, or the bed works. I really appreciate you not telling anyone about Piques. He's really important to me, and I'd hate to have to give him up, hehe...

Uhh, if you want I can play some music or something. Are you free to hang out for a bit or do you go somewhere to be?

Dierk felt somewhat obligated to get to know Kaede, especially since she had blackmail on him with the knowledge of Piques as well as permission to enter his room to play with Piques. There was also the reminders from his father to befriend students in the academy. Kaede seemed pleasant enough to start.

dIERK APPEARS AT EVES DOOR AGGRESSIVELY. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, EVE! I know we've not talked much, but, I wanted to give you something. I bet you got a bunch of gifts from fans and this is nothing, but, here". He holds a small bag of home made German Chocolate. There is an attached note written in French saying happy birthday. It appears part of it was written again, as if he had made an error and erased it to write it again. He likely used a online translator to figure out how to say it.

Someone was at her door—?

Oh, it was Dierk! That nice boy she’d met the other day…he’d really taken the time to stop and see her? She smiled softly upon seeing him, but as he gave his greeting and held out the gifts, her expression grew surprised. He was wishing her a happy birthday…?

"E-eh…? Oh, t-thank you, Dierk…! I-I don’t know what to say, I…this is…v-very kind of you…!"

She gingerly accepted the bag and looked at the note, her smile growing. He wrote in in French too…? She laughed softly and folded the note up to keep it safe.

"I-it was actually the…only gift I got today…! This means a lot to me, s-so thank you…!"

She tucked her hair behind her ear a little bit. 

"I-I asked my mother about the venue for the concert, a-and she told me they weren’t sold out yet. I wanted to find out, i-in case you wanted to know…"

Dierk gave a light laugh at Eve's comment. Surely she was joking about his pathetic gift being all she had gotten. He was not even that close to her, and she likely had plenty of friends who showered her in better presents.

He waited a moment smiling for her to explain the joke, to pull out some expensive gift to make his look insignificant. He waited for a while, even after Eve had changed the subject and began a potential conversation.

His happy expression faded to a more worried one. "What?" His voice sounded almost angry, at least as much as it was concerned. "How could I.... What do you mean it is the ONLY gift you got today? I tho-.. but you're... I-"

He glanced at her and felt nothing but sorrow. She seemed so nice and she was just so talented. How was she not fighting off a wave of presents attempting to burst out of her doorway when she opened it?

"I... I'll definitely try and get tickets, but first, have you eaten anything yet?"

He held his hand out to her, "If you haven't, would you like to come with me to a restaurant to celebrate your birthday?"

He thought for a moment. It was getting pretty late. Most of the good quality restaurants would be closed by now. Plus, he was not quite sure how she would feel about him taking her out to eat alone, considering they were still getting to know one another. "If you rather not leave the academy I can cook you something special! You name it, I cooked in my mother's restaurant back home each summer, so I'm pretty okay. What would you like to have?"

He gave her another honest smile. He was very confident about this proposal and would not take no for an answer. He was still appalled that she was not already drowning in other friends making plans to spend her birthday with her. What the fuck is wrong with this school? Fucking Asish School.

Eve looked at the cards in Dierk’s hand with interest. What were those…? They were really pretty, whatever they were, they didn’t look like those standard playing cards she knew about. She laughed softly as he continued to mention the concert, truly flattered by the thought.

"Ehe, w-well, I hope you can get a ticket, i-if you really want to go. It’s going to be a…really good show, I think. My…zodiac sign? I don’t know the signs, b-but…I was born on December 16th, so…my birthday is really soon. W-what sign does that make me…?"

She giggled a little at his “bull” demonstration, but as the cards fell to the floor she quickly put her clarinet aside and knelt down to help him clean up.

It was obvious Dierk was quite use to picking up cards. By the time Eve had gotten down to grab the cards scattered at her feet he had a vast majority of the slipped cards scooped up and neatly placed in his hand. He even quickly ran through the deck he held to verify that each card was facing the correct direction. Once the cards had all been placed up Dierk returned his attention to Eve.

Thanks. Sorry, I'm usually not that clumsy with my cards... at least not when I'm not startled. I appreciate the help.

Decemeber 16th, huh? That was fairly close. He'd have to make a mental note to get her something. Maybe? Would that be weird? They had just met one another and he wasn't even really sure what she would appreciate as a birthday gift. Perhaps he should just make her some German chocolate just to be safe, if he gets her anything. He was still borderline as to whether the gesture would be perceived as weird or not.

December 16th? That makes you a Sagittarius if I'm not mistaken. That's the archer sign. It's a pretty cool sign, in my opinion. I'm a little bias towards my own sign, but Sagittarius is pretty cool too!

I guess the astrological zodiac is not extremely relevant to Asish people, right? Uhh, maybe... what are you top five composers? If you don't mind me asking that is, hehe...

He began to shuffle the cards in his hand as he spoke, keeping his attention on Eve's earrings, feigning eye contact.

Uh.

"C…ool, cool. Um, mine’s pretty easy, I guess. Just ‘Tachibana’. Nothing special."

Natsuki figured he was… Half-foreign? Or maybe he was fully foreign but his parents just liked Japanese names? Nah, that probably wasn’t it. Did people even actually do that? She supposed it was a possibility but… Meh.

Natsuki only had minor trouble following him. Being over six feet tall, Natsuki had a bit of an advantage when it came to walking quickly. Granted, most of the time, she didn’t, preferring instead to stroll contentedly along and hoping she’d see a friend along the way. Maybe this guy didn’t have many friends? Something in Natsuki’s mind told her that that was a distinct possibility. Even distincter was the voice telling Natsuki not to bring that up.

They arrived at the kitchen, Natsuki only lagging behind a bit.

"Mmkay. Rice, rice, rice…"

She began searching. In this moment Natsuki realized she barely knew the layout of the kitchen.

"You know where it is, Kozure…-san?"

It took just about every ounce of restraint not to reflexively refer to him as Ko-kun or something cute like that. They… Probably would not be friends after this unless he had some sort of emotional breakthrough concerning rice. Very improbable. But anything could happen? Hell, at this point, she’d met a very religious musclebound short guy who doesn’t speak at all unless in prayer who knows a trick to fixing a potentially waterlogged cell phone. In addition, he may or may not be half foreign, he could be full foreign, but could be fully Japanese, who won’t reveal his last name because it’s difficult to pronounce.

Natsuki really hoped she wasn’t about to get roped into some sort of yakuza initiation rite. Did those involve rice? She hoped not. She’d be in deep trouble.

Kozure slowed down slightly. She had given her last name, so, it only seemed fair for him to return the favour. Plus she didn't seem too put off by his religious zealot...ness, so that was a plus. I'd also make things a bit easier between them, having two names to address each other by. The chances of finding another Natuski or Kozure in the kitchen after class was slim to none, but, it was still a possibility, right?

For now he remained silent, trying to just get the objective complete. "Keep focused and trudge through it" he mentally told himself.

Kozure entered the kitchen and glanced around. Everything was pretty organized, as expected. He went over to a drawer and pulled it open. Silverware, wrong drawer; cannot hold rice with this. He closed the drawer and was moving. He was under the impression Natsuki knew the location of the rice just from her chanting it alone. When he asked for his assistance he turned. He glanced around slightly.

There had to be a large supply of rice here. How else would they enjoy the occasional onagi-oh wait, the occasional doughnut? Rice was an essential part of a lot of meals too. He opened a pantry and began to scan labels and containers.

There should naturally be a large supply somewhere. One would logically expect there to be anyway, There are a few hundred students here, and rice is cheap and easy to make.

He opened a barrel and glanced inside. There was nothing but a cluster of nuts inside. He imagined that sugar, flour, and rice would have been contained in containers this large or larger. He continued searching.

Tachibana is simple enough to remember. Alas, my surname is a plague to the Japanese tongue. Though six letters it contains a dreaded double 'r' and baffles those who attempt to say it. It's Fierro, for future reference. I'm... part Spaniard. The "rr" is fairly important in the pronuciation. If one cannot say it properly, I encourage them to address me as Kozure.

Kozure didn't see the flour in the pantry. He got up, a bit dumbfounded by the sever lack of rice. What the hell type of cafeteria/kitchen does not have rice?

Obviously not this one. He happened to glance over at the fridge and notice three large white contains, each with their own measuring scoop and retractable lids. Above them were labels: "Sugar", "Flour", and sure enough "Rice". How did he miss that before? He squinted at the contains cursing them. Of course they had to be in plain sight. Couldn't be easy and be concealed or something to make the effort put forth to finding them worth wild.

All we need is a bag to put the rice and your phone in, Señorita Tachibana. Judging by the rice's location, I'd conclude that a box of bags to be on the counter or in an already ajar drawer. Somewhere obvious that we're less likely to notice.

He went over the the rice and opened the container. There was plenty of dried rice. All they needed was a proper container now.

(I can’t believe Dierk has discovered the real talent of Kaede Igarashi… SHSL Ninja. Believe it.)

Kaede nodded once, that small smile still present on her face as her eyes dropped back down to the kitten in hand. She doesn’t really look this happy most of the time, she didn’t look particularly… anything, really. But this was a special case. Because cats were just so important. 

Just as it seems she hadn’t caught his words again, she speaks up — largely keeping her attention on Piques, but glancing in Dierk’s direction every so often. 

"Nnnno… no, sadly, I haven’t. Much ‘s ‘d love to, dunno how Ma ‘d feel ‘bout pets in th’ house."

(And I wouldn’t dare let any living being of any sort near my mom, she would’ve added if she didn’t want to keep other people out of that business. Conceal, don’t feel, yadda yadda.)

"But… yeah, I like kitties. They’re really… uh… like. Ok. Like, they don’t… judge people, or somethin’. Like… ya just gotta look after ‘em ‘nd give ‘em attention, ‘nd they like ya fine. Don’t matter who ya are…

Also they’re cute. ‘nd soft.”

Makes perfect sense if you ask me.

Dierk continued to smile, albeit a small hesitation when Kaede mentioned she didn't own a pet. He couldn't imagine not having an animal companion. He was able to connect to them a lot better than humans, and felt sad that Kaede didn't have one. He tried not to dig too deep as to why. She mentioned her mother, but didn't discuss it in too much detail, so, she likely didn't want to talk about it.

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that. Well, since Piques likes you so much; I wouldn't mind if you came by to see him while we're at the school.

He had to agree with Kaede about how nonjudgmental cats can be. They treated pretty much everyone the same. That may have had a hand in why Dierk felt connected to them on a deeper level than humans. Well, that and it was just simpler for him to connect with pets, not having the awkward forced interactions with people he usually had.

Yeah, I'd say a lot of pets are like that. I know some of my friends who have dogs say dogs are pretty chill with most people so long as you're willing to pet them and play with them. I've also seen things about a guy with a pet bear who loves him. A bear though. Man, wouldn't that be nice?

But yeah, Piqures definitely has his fluff and charm on his side. It's why I cannot lock him in the bathroom whenever I leave my room even though he does something like this. He's too cute to be mad at.

Dierk scratched the top of the cat's head before looking at Kaede. She was a student here, undoubtedly, and therefore had some kind of talent. He was a bit curious. He had just given her permission to stop by his room whenever she wanted to see his cat, he needed to be sure she wasn't the shsl ninja and going to just break in whenever she wanted to see the cat or something equally as ridiculous and unlikely.

So, you're a student here, so, you have a SHSL, right? What's yours? I'm the Card Gamer.

Eve was so focused on her performance, her eyes so fixed on the music that she only saw a little bit of his movement in her peripheral vision. She wasn’t sure if he had an itch in his eyes or something, but she didn’t have time to think about it at the moment. All she could think about was when to tighten her embouchure, when to loosen it, where to move her fingers, what her tempo was, how the song was meant to sound when the rest of the orchestra was there…for the duration of her piece, nothing else existed except her and the music. There was no insecurity or doubt to be found.

When Dierk finally spoke, she blinked up at him and smiled. Was he…crying…? No, he coughed, he must have just gotten something caught in his throat.

"Ehe…thank you. I’ve been…playing for a long time, s-so…I’m glad you enjoyed it. Popular…?"

She tilted her head a little, unsure how to respond. She knew she wasn’t extremely popular, at least in a school setting. Before she could question that further, Dierk had continued speaking. She listened closely and nodded, smiling a little bit. Was her performance really so good that he wanted to travel to France to see it again? She wouldn’t mind just playing some more music for him in private, if that was the case. Wait…interesting?

"I-I’m not sure if it’s sold out or not, I only go to…play the music. But…get to know me better…? I…okay…! That’s not weird, Dierk, I-I’d be happy to get to know you better too…! U-um…what would you like to know…?"

Dierk couldn't help but smile cheek to cheek. He was a bit baffled that the quivering girl unable to confidently finish a sentence was more than capable of playing an entire musical piece beautifully form start to finish. He took a quick surveillance to confirm once again that there was no recording of the ballet. It was just an awkward juxtaposition of confidence while playing and sheepishness when speaking. He continued to speak slowly encase it was just a stutter.

What did he want to know though? He took a moment to think of what to ask. He awkwardly just stared at her. He blinked once or twice before scratching his head and looking at the wall, a bit embarrassed by the mental speed bump occurring in his head. He had a lot of questions, but honestly saying "everything" just seemed too awkward, especially since they had just met.

He glanced down at the deck of cards in his hand. He'd almost forgotten about it, having not shuffled it aggressively during the duration of the performance. The deck he had grabbed just o happened to be one of her few tarot decks. He didn't really use it for readings much, but rather just shuffled it as the cards still shuffled and did magic tricks just the same. He did, however, get an idea from the cards.

Is that so? I might look into trying to get a ticket then... Hopefully I'll be in luck. But...

Uhhh, I guess... What's your Zodiac sign? Like, when's your birthday?

He pondered if the zodiac was even relevant to people of Japanese decent. Didn't they use the Chinese Zodiac system? Shit.

He put his hands up to his head and held one finger up towards the sky to symbolize bullhorns. He smiled but felt rather silly. He just didn't know how else to start conversation really. Unfortunately, having his hands up like that meant the grip on his deck of cards loosened quite considerably. The cards began to fall one after another and when Dierk took notice and tired to grab the few that had fallen he was suddenly playing a game of 52 pick-up.

Fuck.

He got down and quickly snatched up a considerable amount of cards. It was obvious he had done this before. He looked up at Eve awkwardly before offering another smile. God, why was he acting so awkward? Had the music really moved him that much? Was he still stuck in that state of pure awe of that which is Eve Yukimura?

The cards seemed to say yes.

Anaki thought about Sayuri’s question, pouting her lips a bit in concentration as she considered the best way to answer it.

"Yeah, ‘s usually the case that if you’re hidin’ out online, at least if ya do it right, no one can find ya. I honestly never found out the exact details of how they found me, I was jus’ happy building my, ah, crew of contacts for people who help me get as much shit as possible, an’ one day I got a letter addressed to both ‘Anaki’ an’ my real name. The higher-ups in the school know, but guess it’s not a huge surprise, considierin’ how many tech geniuses there are here. Either that or some of the kids from back home were used t’ help find me, since I started goin’ by ‘Anaki’ as a nickname too over there ‘round 5 years ago. I use a shitload of proxies, which are like, ah…ways to keep people from findin’ out where you’re usin’ the computer from and hidin’ your servers, but I’m guessin’ they spent a long time lookin’ for me. Hell, if they sent me here instead of t’ prison, I’m gonna do my best not t’ complain, especially since there’s a sorta protection thing I got going on here, an’ my name’s still been kept off the records.

An’ honestly, I’ve met people who didn’t even know what a computer was, so you’re far from ignorant, Eushima-san. You can trust me on that one, haha, if anythin’ you seem like one of the more savvy ones I’ve met, least in terms of what the lifestyle’s like an’ questionin’ that kinda stuff.”

She turned a corner and pointed up ahead.

"Computer room’s just up this way, it’s the first landmark I remembered anyway."

Sayuri tried to understand the information Anaki answered her with to the best of her ability. It was a bit confusing, especially since Sayuri took Anaki's words rather literally. She was well aware of what Anaki meant by  "get as much shit as possible", but she did not understand how having several crew members could assist in doing this. She imagined Anaki as a captain, ordering twenty six people to type a single letter on the keyboard to aid her in gathering her "shit", whatever that may literally be.

To be honest, the whole 'internet pirate' still did not make much sense to her. What could she pillage? Images from google? Aren't things on the internet already free? How could taking something from the internet be considered illegal? Ignoring of the conundrum that Sayuri felt was there, Sayuri simply nodded.

I...I think I understand. It would be convenient if these so called, err, 'Proxies', right? It would be lovely if they were accessible to utilize outside of the Internet. It would definitely have made my occupation far more simplistic.

I have to agree with you. This institution is definitely much more favorable than the alternative. I assumed my acceptance came from near fatal errors I made when I began my work. I was under the assumption that all loose ends from that time were covered by my Sensei, however, considering I did receive a letter to my family's address I assume my family's activities are not as... undetected as I was lead on to believe.

That is what I assume at least. The actual nature regarding my acceptance letter is as much a mystery to me as yours seems to be for you. Perhaps we will find out prior to graduating.

Sayuri continued walking until they reached the room. She looked around briefly to get a grasp of her surroundings. Things still did not look too familiar. Oh well. They had just begun the tour.

Natsuki merely stood, shocked, as the boy took her hand and began to actually, literally, really, recite a prayer. Natsuki found herself staring at their hands. Suddenly, she wasn’t even concerned about her phone much anymore. She was just…

This was different. This was different, and expected, and Natsuki really, somehow knew that she’d brought it all on herself, what all of that literally asking for prayer stuff.

It seemed like he went on for a while. A long while. Did prayers usually last this long? Natsuki, and her parents, had never been very religious. But this guy, apparently, was.

Blah, blah, blah. Words. Natsuki remained silent and still out of respect, but she didn’t really listen to much of what he said in the end. He dropped her hand out of nowhere and Natsuki snapped out of her thoughts, a bit confused at the hostility she got from his vibes. But then, oddly enough, he suggested they go to the kitchen for some rice. Natsuki nodded slowly, still a bit taken aback by the whole situation.

"Yeah… Yeah, uh, let’s go…? Rad."

After a few incredibly awkward, silent moments of walking, Natsuki attempted to break the ice. Whether that ice would be broken was another story entirely.

"So, um… Hi! …I’m Natsuki. What’s your name?"

Please let this work. If not, Natsuki thought, she might just cut her losses and run away with a broken phone.

Not really, but it was a fun thought.

Damn. Why did he have to help someone who wanted to socialize? He was half expecting her to be grateful for the rice tip and dart towards the kitchen, leaving him in the dust to go elsewhere. That or worry still of her phone and not bother him. He rolled his eyes, which naturally was a motion Natsuki couldn't see from the angle he stood from her. He turned slightly.

He half considered giving his full name. If she was looking awkwardly at him before, saying Kozure Fierro Martinez Rodriguez Garcia Escobar Lozano Delvalle would definitely raise an eyebrow or two.

Kozure.

He was quick and fairly forced in his manner of speaking. He rounded a corner. continuing to move towards the kitchen. It was a moment before he appended his statement.

My given name is Kozure. Surname is a bit more difficult to pronounce.

He continued walking. Who would have guessed a little 5' 6'' man could walk so fast.

A Familiar Tune (Closed rp with shslfacecards (Eve) and Dierk)

Eve smiled softly and nodded. She was lucky to know French, and she did appreciate his suggestion about visiting Germany. She knew she would likely never get the chance to, not anytime soon anyways. She could never catch the train unsupervised, her father would surely disown her if she did something so reckless. She’d have to wait for a chance to go there for a concert, most likely.

Once her clarinet was set up, Eve looked up at Dierk and smiled again briefly before bringing her attention to the…rather lengthy score she had set out in front of her. She poised the instrument in her hands and pressed the reed to her lips, tapping her toes to give herself a rhythm and taking a sharp breath in before she began to play her section of music from the Nutcracker Suite.

Her fingers danced over the keys in an expert fashion, sometimes her movements were so quick and fluid that it was difficult to even keep track of them. During the quick sections, it was even difficult to tell when she was taking breaths. Sometimes it may even be doubtful that she was breathing at all, considering how quickly and consistently the sound came out. And during the slow sections, her tone came out beautifully as she had such tight control over her breath and embouchure. Nothing like the stammering girl Dierk had just met, Eve looked focused and entirely engrossed in her music, something truly professional.

Dierk smiled towards Eve, who seemed prepared to start. Dierk closed his eyes and concentrated on listening to the piece. The beginning was clear and beautiful. It was familiar to Dierk, although, it took him a moment to identify it. After a few more measures he realized it was the Nutcracker Ballet song. Hell if he knew the actual title. He'd never watched the ballet nor listened to the music played during it aside from hearing it on the occasional radio when in the car around the winter holidays.

He opened his eyes and confirmed that Eve was, in fact, still playing. He was sure for a moment that she had managed to put on a recording of the piece and was pretending to play along. She was, much to his amazement, still playing beautifully.

It took him a whole five minutes to realize his mouth was agape. He promptly closed his mouth and covered it, a bit embarrassed that he had gotten so lost in the performance. He fully understood why she was the SHSL Orchestral Musician. She was phenomenal. There was no doubt she was telling the truth about holding first chair in the performance. At such a young age too, she was at the envy of Dierk.

The performance was so beautiful, sound so pure and excellently carried through the delicate instrument that Dierk felt his eyes began to water. He blinked several times trying to not be officially the lamest nerd in all of Hope's Peak. What kind of man cries at musical performance, right? Dierk Kujou apparently.

God, she was perfect. As she played the last notes Dierk quickly took his sleeve and wiped his face, hoping she was too distracted in her muse that she didn't notice the dork that was Dierk Hartmann-Kujou.

T-that was b-beautiful

Dierk quietly mumbled in a quivering voice. He quickly cleared his throat, bringing his fist to his mouth as he tried to feign a cough or something being stuck in his throat to alter his voice.

You're really talented, Yukimura-uhh...san. You must be really popular, being able to play as incredibly as that. I'm really impressed.

Dierk felt sort of bad for getting a private concert now. Her talent was much to beautiful to be at no cost. He was definitely going to cherish this moment.

I kind of want to go to France to see your concert now. No doubt it is likely sold out by now.

Uhhh, I'd like to get to know you better, if that is not super weird to ask. You're really interesting.

Dierk stood up from the chair he had sat in for the duration of the piece. He shifted his weight awkwardly a bit, having stayed as still as he could muster for a majority of the performance with the exception of the occasion wipe to the face. As a result, his back was a bit stiff. No big deal, he just would stand for a bit and it would be fine.

ERROR 404. Dierk.exe not found.

I kid. I kid. But. That being said. Dierk not here. At the moment at least. May I assist you… instead? Who’re you?

Miyake looked confused, scratching the back of her head. “Oh…I…I guess I might have misunderstood. Then again he might not be at school anymore. He’s big and blond and kinda chubby…and he gives great hugs. I thought I’d be able to see him again and catch up. B-But…if he’d not here anymore that would be hard to do. Or…he doesn’t exist.” She smiled sadly. “Name’s Miyake.”

"Hmm. Well. I cannot personally account for Dierk's ability to deliver suitable hugs. However. Your description does resemble my acquaintance Dierk to a degree. Physically speaking at least. Perhaps my acquaintance Dierk can work as a suitable replacement for your lost. I'm sure you can run into him in the hallway. Or at the local German restaurant. He frequents there. He also enjoys to read. The library is a good place. He you wish to bump into him."

Eri awkwardly shifts her weight, "Dierk is new and is looking for more friends. He associates with my brother and I. But. He is still meeting people. I'm sure a new acquaintance might be appreciated. Although. If you do met him. Perhaps you shouldn't mention the other Dierk you once knew. It might bother him. Or he might think you're replacing a lost friend with him. He is autistic. Not quite sure how he would react to that. I know I. Personally. Would be upset. He might just get unnecessarily angry. Or cry. Or something to that degree. Just avoid it. If you met him that is. Okay?"

She turns to walk away. "If that is all. Then I bid you adieu. Miyake. I'm Fukuhara by the way. Eri Fukuhara."
