It was meant to be mlm but i made it entirely gender neutral accidentally lol. this is my first time properly writing and publishing a fic so mb for how mid it prolly is. its also 5am not and i havent a lick of sleep. idk. sirius black is a princess. ALSO this is so far removed from actual hp content bc honestly im js here for the marauders. muggle au.

"Turn that off,"
Sirius's voice cuts through thick wall between you and your nightly doomscroll session. Not that his tone is oozing out power or authority, not really. The words come out in a groggy rasp, as if Sirius has a gear stuck in his vocal chords. He sounds tired is the point.
He's got a right to be too, some may say a responsiblity. It's nearing 2 AM and you're in his bed, wearing his pink pajama trousers and resting on his silky pillows with your phone screen lighting up the whole damn room while the man sleeps. Everyone knows Sirius needs his beauty sleep too, or else he'll be grumbling from dawn to dusk.
"I'm watching the match highlights..."
You murmur and try to tilt the blue light away from the frowning boy peeking out from under the covers. If anything Sirius hates more than your sleeping habits, it's your excuses for staying up as late as you do. It's always some dumb shit.
"Didn't FIFA end today?"
"I said highlights. Highlights always come after a game ends, y'know?"
"And you wonder why your friends don't wanna watch the games with you... always so snarky."
Sirius mutters and turns away from you with finality because he'd be damned if he lost sleep over the same man who was jumping and pacing in front of the telly, screaming at tiny, 2-D men on the screen who kept falling over their feet.
His turning away doesn't go unnoticed by you, mostly because it's taken a personal attack. He's gonna make you out to be a loser, call you rude, and then turn away? As if.
The phones clicked shut and it's shoved to the side, the pillow's repositioned to lay flat on the sheets and you follow, shifting closer to your lover under the covers. The usual ordeal follows; your arms clasp around Sirius's waist, nose pressing up on the base of his neck, your leg hooking over his frame. Your feet are freezing against his bare leg and it draws out an irritated hiss from the already annoyed man.
"I thought you loved me, man."
You say it in the sweetest, cooiest voice you can muster, eyelashes fluttering over his neck. Again comes Sirius's raspy, sleepy voice.
"I'll be sure to stop if you keep calling me man."
You giggle at how he mocks your usage of the word at the end. You know he hates your "bro talk" and he swears you're using it on purpose now.
"Okay," You pause, as if really putting thought into the wording this time. "I thought you loved me, baby." You lift up your head to try to get a look at his face. "Better?"
You can't see it in the darkness of the room but he's wearing a fond smile now. Still, he shakes his head.
"'Mon, Siri," Your voice is akin to a whine or a plea here. Mostly because it is both of those. "Turn 'round."
With the heaviest of sighs, he does so. He shifts onto his back and loops an arm around your neck, pulling you flush against him as you grin like a man gone mad.
"Go to sleep, asshole."
