Nutopia Cyberlounge - Covent Garden, London UK (1999-2004)
“Nutopia was envisioned as an interactive launchpad for frontier digital technologies and experiences. Designed by architect Grant Mitchell Munro, the spatial experience was based on the well documented condition of the Ganzfeld (total field) which argues that individuals who gaze into featureless voids experience moments of hallucinatory insight and clarity. The immersive interiors were accompanied by a heady mix of ambient sound, architectural lighting and marine aromatics in an effort to stimulate creative thought.
Due to its breathtaking aesthetic, Nutopia was ranked one of UK’s top 5 millennial projects, and became known as the go-to place to launch digital innovation. Over the 4-year period of the dotcom boom (circa 1999-2003), Nutopia was responsible for staging more than 200 European digital product launches ranging from 50 to 10,000 attendees. As an award-winning experiential design agency, Nutopia was also responsible for creating and directing promotional design strategies for some of leading global tech brands including Microsoft, Sony, and Samsung.”
