Embarrassingly overdue synopsis: I will inflate a series of susceptible forms with my breath and allow the air to seep out of them. I hope to incite a reflexive awareness of our presence inside a body and the often unconscious but immense labor of sustaining that presence. I connect breathing, an act of corporeal weight and levity, movement and stasis to considerations of affective weight, loss and regeneration, ritual and memory.
But more importantly:

Disillusionment Soup
In this trying political climate, let's come together to share a meal and remind ourselves that good can still exist. Because as Cervantes said "sorrow is less with bread " . Bring food or wine or beer if you feel like it. But most importantly , bring yourself. We have to support each other in times of turmoil. And the best way to do that is through food. Feel free to bring anyone who needs nourishment.
We’ll start cooking at 8 this Friday (November 11th). Let me know if you wanna join in, and Ill give you the address.

“But giving in to the fear of feeling and working to capacity is a luxury only the unintentional can afford, and the unintentional are those who do not wish to guide their own destinies.” I’m not sure that I fully understand what this sentence is saying...could we “unpack” it please?
Synopsis
My performance will focus on taking selfies. In the past few years taking pictures with our phones have become easier and easier. I want to show the audience how “selfies” have become part our everyday life. But also to show how they have become obstacles.

Delueze and Guattari
it is interesting that Delueze and Guattari describe the different kinds of “bodies” as disorders such as the paranoid body and the schizo body. Do they believe that the physical body is detrimental to the mental body? Is reaching BwO truly finding oneself?
Lorde
Sorry for the late post.
is it possible to incorporate the erotic in every aspect of one’s life? I feel like humans are never really satisfied, they are always looking for whats better. and can someone really feel ‘nothing’ or be erotically numb?
Synopsis
I intend to complete a durational performance in which I am fed by the audience/gallery goers at their (and not my) pleasure.

Amy’s Synopsis
I wanted to be a cowboy when I was younger. I didn’t realize that to be a cowboy I had to be a boy. I could only ever be a cowgirl which is a very different thing. My performance addresses the frustrations I have accumulated over years of facing the limitations of gender in our society. I will use my own body (which is by societal standards a female body) to perform a physical skill that is often considered “masculine” to blur the boundaries between what is expected or accepted in our society.
Question: Delueze and Guattari
Is the Body Without Organs a response to the limitations that are put onto our bodies by society? Is it a response to the individualized, categorized, named, controlled body we are told we have? -Amy
Question: Lorde
I love the way she talks about not separating the spiritual and the political- and that she brings love into it. I love the way she talks about a lot of things, but I wonder if it is still too limiting to think of these qualities as female? For example, I am really interested in Jungian psychology, but the splitting of qualities into male and female really bothers me... not only because I don’t agree with the dividing of the qualities but also because it is still only allowing for male and female and disregarding all the other options. -Amy
