Musclecars from 1963 to 1974 (give or take ten years either side). Most of the pics here are my work, some dating back to car shows from the 1980s. Reblogs and submitted pics will always be rightfully credited. Always SFW. I have an affinity for the first generation Camaro, especially the 1969 SS/RS 396 and the Z/28.

Okay, not a typical definition of a muscle car, but I love this 1966 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport! Loooong, boat-like body and hubcaps, but look at that 396 / 325 horsepower rat big block seething under the hood! And a 4speed to boot! (Muncie? Probably.) And bucket seats. And check out the gauge cluster on the console. I’d love to know if it’s a Muncie close ratio or wide ratio as well as the rearend differential. This car looks like your grandmother’s grocery-getter. But from redlight to redlight, it’ll surprise that other person beside you!

1972 Pontiac Trans Am with a 300 horsepower 455 H/O under the hood. I actually don’t recall if this girl has a 4-speed or an automatic and the owner wasn’t around for me to inquire about the differential. But she’s got factory air and the unique honeycomb rims. What a collector’s item!

I try to take deep breaths when I run across original 1969 Z/28s. (Deep breath). Protect-o-plate looked correct. “DZ” stamped on engine block pad under the alternator. Owner wasn’t around and it was a public car show, so I couldn’t get too much more nosey. Anyway, gauge cluster on the console, 4speed, vinyl roof, small block, Endura bumper. Sigh, ‘69 Z/28....

A pair of ‘60s to start our weekend! I won’t voice my disdain for aftermarket rims on such a classic pair of ‘vettes, so I’ll let these two slide by. :-) All kidding aside, that’s a good looking pair of girls!

1969 Super Sport convertible Chevelle at a local car show the other weekend in "Garnet Red." This car is a 396 and the owner wasn't around so I don't know the horsepower, if it's a 402 block or the differential. It is an automatic so I assume it's a turbo-400. This is a nicely optioned car with the convertible roof, automatic, tilt wheel and air conditioning. The girl is for sale too as you can barely see the sign on the dash.

1965 ragtop Mustang with a 289 mated to a 4-speed. The factory rims and white letter tires are sharp! Didn't get to see the motor. I was reluctant to post the pic of the spartan interior, but this car is a driver, not a museum piece. No air conditioning, just air vents, aftermarket console, dirt on the department store floor mats; just like I remember when my parents had two of them when I was growing up. Sweet memories!

I may have posted this 1970 Chevelle before, but it’s a gorgeous car with a lot of options. Take a look at the placard. The owner said he’ll sell it too. LS-5 454 / 360 horsepower, turbo 400 automatic transmission, 3.31 gearing with a 12-bolt, vinyl roof, air conditioning and power windows and locks. Of course, a “bitchin’ red” paint job (GM cranberry red). The flag is on the truck behind the Chevelle. <\p>

1967 Pontiac GTO in "Plum Mist" with an "Ivory" vinyl top and a "Parchment" interior. This girl has a 400 engine kicking out 335 horsepower with a 4-speed and a Hurst shifter. She also has a 3.36 rearend under her. The body color is so '60s, I love it!

1972 Buick GS rocking a 455 and a Turbo-400 automatic. The older 2nd owner said it was his mother's car she bought new off the lot in Buffalo, New York. He has it restored the way she took delivery of it. Yes, the window sticker says "whitewall tires." This is a ragtop big block of only which a handful were made.

Sorry for the lack of posts the past few days as I've been out of town on business hosting a seminar for clients and am hosting one today as well. 12 -14 hr days for most of this week. I have a boatload of new material to show to all 15,600+ of you out there! Meanwhile, I'll leave this sweet, ragtop Boss 302 Mustang "Ri' 'Chere" (pronounced "Rye Cheer" as in "Right Here")!

1972 Mach 1 Mustang in Ford “Light Pewter” at a car show today. This girl has a 351 Cleveland and an automatic transmission. I’m liking this color on this car; haven’t seen too many silver 71-72 Mustangs.

1958 ragtop Corvette sporting a 283. Not sure of which of the 4 engine options in the 283 this car has. But she is so smart looking with the black body, white top and white sidewall tires.

1967 Corvette with a 327 / 350 horsepower smallblock and a Muncie 4-speed. This was at a local car show a few weeks ago. The owner said the vinyl roof was factory.

Mmmmmmm, 1963 split-window with a 327 4-speed at a car show a few weeks ago. I assume it's a Saginaw transmission and don't know the horsepower of the small block or the differential in the rearend. But a mint '63 'Vette, 327 4-speed, factory red, black interior... sigh.

Spotless 1966 Chevelle Super Sport with a 396 / 360 horsepower factory rat motor connected to a Muncie with a Hurst shifter. Not sure of the rearend gearing or the Muncie type. But this car is absolutely breathtaking!

Absolutely immaculate 1967 GTO! Not sure of the engine size as the owner wasn't around, but that Pontiac horsepower is controlled by a 4-speed and a Hurst shifter. The motor is spotless!!! And the inside of the trunk, wow! The red line tires really set off the black paint & red pinstriping. Gorgeous car!

Am really liking this 1971 Olds 442! She's got a 350 horsepower 455 mated to a turbo 400 automatic transmission with a 3.23 rearend. She's clothed in GM "Viking Blue". Look at the options on the performance package on the bill of sale. I miss seeing those factory Olds rims. Nice touch with the drive-in speaker beside the car. Cool collection of 8-tracks, huh? I had Rod Stewart, Styx, Fleetwood Mac & Jefferson Airplane back in the day.
