One of my favorite things about ya/na fantasy is probably that the maturity levels of a several hundred year old man is finally enough to match that of a 16-20 something year old woman and I honestly think that's the most realistic thing in these books.

So ahem. I just finished Dark Lover by J.R.Ward and let me tell you

I HAVE SOME FEELINGS ABOUT THIS BOOK

I’ve always been a sucker for paranormal romance. It is my ultimate guilty pleasure and I will never not love it

This book is just so GOOD

The brotherhood?? The gifts, the refreshing twist on vampires?? The brotherhood????

I devoured this book. It was precisely what I’ve been waiting for. A little intense, extensive cast, exciting...can’t wait to find out what happens next!

For the record, I totally ship Butch and Vishous. Seriously, those two are freaking MADE for each other and no I do not accept criticism

Rhage. Sigh. I love you. Your curse intrigued me and i can’t wait to see it developed further. There’s an incredible back story there

Phury. You’re a good boy. You’re trying hard and you’re doing a good job

Tohrment. There was a sad shortage of you. I feel like there’s going to be a lot to be learned there and I am ready.

Vishous, you’re soulmate is Butch and I just need you to be a man and make him you shellan whatever. Pretty please

Wrath. I have many feelings about you. I think one of my favorite aspects is him being a blind king. It’s an intriguing angle, not only for its obviousness but also the symbolism behind it. Can’t wait to watch him grow into his power

Zsadist. I’d be lying if I said from the very first moment you appeared on the page you weren’t my favorite. Scene stealer. Lethal and gorgeous and my absolute type!! You’re underestimated now but I think the brotherhood is going to find out how special and amazing and important you are. Honestly, I’d read entire libraries devoted to you, little rough boy.
