#1PUNCH. ind . priv . sel . writing blog for SAITAMA of ONE's One Punch Man . Canon-divergent & heavily based on personal headcanons & the manga , mun is not familiar with the webcomic ! not spolier-free + very low / sporadic activity . ( est . april 2024 ) .
a study in : THE HERO , loss of passion , phantom feelings & grief , COSMIC HORROR , self-deprecation & self-sabotage , the hollowing nature of depression , the immense potential of an underachiever , and the strive to remain hopeful & human . protected by 𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐇 . ♡
MAIN. very canon-divergent, follows canon events after saitama's fight with garou, only here he doesn't forget everything that happened, and now he gotta cope. ( whether genos gets to know or not depends on my rp partner preference ! )
THE UNEMPLOYED FRIEND. an au where saitama doesn't meet genos & join the hero association, he gives up on being a hero and strives to find another purpose to live while doing many odd jobs, occasionally attracting both troubles and strong people due to the fact that the under the uninteresting appeal and layers of hot mess- he still is secretly insanely powerful.
I think it'd be funny if personals looked at my hcs and did a little " :( ??? " of confusion becuz they don't realize how canon-divergent my saitama is
Saitama has never stopped his training regimen, 100 push-ups & set-ups & squats & the 10 km run everyday is still an everyday thing, only it takes him like a couple mins and it falls more into a habit than a training. With how Saitama's starting to view the unnatural aspect of his strength as a problem you'd think he would ?? stop ??? Saitama gets stronger everyday, it's confirmed in the cd dramas. " Why would I lose to yesterday me? " Although I believe it's a bit of a stretch to say he can actually beat his yesterday self*, he's definitely gaining more & more strength steadily.
It's just that Saitama is very much aware of how threats in their world are only getting worse as time goes on, and thus giving up his training when he knows he can also get stronger in order to fight these ridiculously destructive threats wouldn't be the right thing to do as a hero. I think it's a little ??? ironic. Saitama's strength is his primal dilemma and the reason he's starting to feel deeply inhuman, and every battle & new foe never bring back the passion of being a hero, but they still prove that there are things only he is capable of dealing with whether he liked it or not.
* Because that imples gaining a ridiculously tremendous amount of strength without enough of a stimulus, which wouldn't be normal daily training... but maybe a crippling emotion like he's never experienced before.
funniest thing abt opm lore to me is how "God" seems vaguely aware that there is a hero who's broken their Limiter and thus went against the rules he set on earth creatures, leading to that evil space lawyer God beefing with said hero but like. God doesn't know who it is, even when earth incarnate centipede & natural evil water were sent to "destroy the Abominable Fist that turned against God" they didn't seem to have any clear target in mind and just went about trying to kill heroes. Nobody knows who Saitama is, not even God.
I'm going to bed but there is an anime expo starting in like. 11 mins and studio bones are supposed to make an announcement for a new thing they're making and i really hope it's the reigen manga anime adaptation
