how had she gotten to this point? the night washes over her again. each moment out of focus, disjointed.

previous conversations begin to jostle in her head uncomfortably. ones surrounded by bright lights, that fade from red to yellow to green to blue. and repeat on loop. they are compacted and placed inside her usual alcohol providing environment. 

sowon and yu, both, had their fair share of drinks.

he had bitten off more than he could chew. eyes heavy with sleep, mouth warning of sick. the dim light of the moon accompanying them as she drags him home. her most expensive heels snapping under the extra weight. breaking against the unforgiving pavement.

“that isn’t a pillow fort,” exhaling the phrase out after tossing him onto his bed “that’s so you don’t die choking on your own vomit.”

she recalls the slurred promise of payment as they peeled themselves off the pavement earlier.

“oh, you owe me a new pair of shoes.”

"now that’s just sad.”

amusement dripping from her tongue. lips laced with venom, decorated in an inviting dark red. on this night one could see her and think her a welcoming woman. the joy humming through her, ever visible on those dark red lips. reveling in the company occupying the seat next to her. 

they are perched near the back of the bar, looming over the crowd. crimson light bleeding into the building. blanketing over the temporary inhabitants inside. sharp eyes signal the location of the body the comment is attached to. 

the victim is a stranger, a woman she has no attachment to. though it isn’t uncommon for sowon to strike those she is attached to. the stranger stands out, however. the unattractive rustic yellow atop her head alerts sowon first. the mane brittle from bleach. her ensemble is messy at best. every item out of season and a size or two too big. 

it’s the nose though that forced out sowon’s quip. wringing it out of her. it lays awkwardly on her face. pinched in all the wrong places. begging the question; how does she breathe? sowon figured her victim had payed too much for it.

“is your agent looking for anyone new to represent—cause she’s perfect.” the line is delivered in a whisper to her companion. danbi’s sense of humor akin to her own.

the soft murmur of the mass inside drowns out sowon’s chuckle. despite this being a regular habitat for sowon, she found the natural crowd it brought in dissappointing.

this random woman was just one of many tonight. it seemed, sometimes, that those with money didn’t know what to do with it. they blew it on nose jobs they didn’t need. wrapped in decadent clothing, they knew nothing about. it occurred to her young that those with money just liked to spend it. and so, she followed the money to their natural environment.

might as well get some enjoyment out of it.

nothing in this world happens by chance.

the fact she’s on her way to natalie’s place is methodical. heels ringing out against the pavement, singing a similar tune. sowon isn’t a morning person. it’s evident in the everlasting bags under her eyes, usually hidden by a smudge of concealer. it’s evident in the two cups of coffee and three cigarettes she’s had already. and it’s evident in the location she’s traveling to. it’s almost a tradition for sowon to show up unannounced at nat’s. she comes bearing her usual gifts of cheap donuts and even cheaper coffee. 

lack of sleep keeps her movement heavy, clunky as she struggles to heave open the front door of the grey building. she convinces herself the weight on her body is a minor side affect of her stunning pointed-toe black pumps. it’s easier than admitting she has a problem. 

sowon rests her body against the elevator wall. avoiding eye contact with her blurred reflection. letting her eyelids, body, and mind sink. her body hanging limply against the wall. the opening of the elevator doors alerts her before she plunges onto the elevators hardwood floor. 

‘god, even the elevators at nat’s apartment complex are nicer than my whole apartment.’

she rounds the corner, as she had done many mornings before this one. it isn’t until her eyes locate natalie’s door does she notice the figure attached to the handle.

“who the fuck are you,” she calls out from the other end of the hallway. it comes out sharp, intending to cut into him. to catch the boy off guard. sleep has all but left her now. gliding across the hallway as quickly as her shoes would allow her. the clicking of her heels closing in on her prey. “and why the fuck were you in there?” 

sowon isn’t dense, unlike what most think. the second half isn’t really a question of what was going on. more of a question of why him? arms now crossed as she stands in front of him; blocking him from avoiding her. to the best of her ability.

it’s no mere coincidence for him to be vacating just as she reaches her destination.  and so, it is required for her to question this boy.

currently working as a stylist, isn’t well known yet. 

originally started working as a makeup artist solely to get money for college. 

favorite makeup artist & inspirations: mother pat mcgrath, sam fine, kevyn aucoin, sir john, and renny vasquez among others

favorite designers are versace, tom ford, thierry mugler, and azzedine alaïa

heavily religious & strict parents. she wasn’t very close to her father. her mother is very hard on her. she has four siblings, three brothers & one sister.

before she started working, middle school era. she would steal magazines, makeup & other small shit until she started manipulating boys into doing it for her.

parents don’t approve of sowon’s work in a “vain & lustful industry” so in high school she would do girls makeup in secret in exchange for money or things her parents wouldn’t buy her.

grades in high school were average.

guidance councilor had suggested she go into a stylist career when in her senior year.

college was very difficult for her. this is when her problems with insomnia really surfaced and she has a tendency to drink a lot.

lives in a shitty apartment that she only got to be away from her parents.

virgo moon meaning she likes things to be clean and organized. usually cleans her apartment or works on projects for her job when she’s stressed out or can’t sleep.

party girl who is really only interested in having fun and looking pretty while doing it. 

tends to be a bit rude to men unless she can get something out of them

she is interested in making things beautiful that’s her job and likes finding the beauty in everything. 

at face value only is really seen as a fun and flirtatious gal. however, she’s a bit rough around the edges. doesn’t express herself in big gushy open ways tending to be seen as somewhat emotionally catatonic. 

blunt & rude to those she isn’t interested in/those who can’t offer her anything. when felt she has been wronged (or those she is close to have been) she’s quick to criticize/fight others. 

cares only for her close circle of friends and herself.
