i wrote you the ask about where i think the will and mack fighting rumours came from. i was particulary addressing that issue because it was mentioned in another ask and in your response you raised the question yourself. yes, readers definitely need to take accountability and that's why i never bought into that crap. i do however think it's a two way street between the writer and reader. also, a fiction writer and and a tarot reader are hardly the same thing: one is built around the author's imagination, the other around someone getting "messages" from cards. the point being, like you and your other anons, i want a more fun, positive fandom space and wish all the doom and negativity. you really are my favorite page on here and i posted that ask because i felt it was a safe space to do so...

I also wanted to say that you're relatable af for missing mancini's sleepworld. I too miss strange and unexpected things from the season. The satisfaction of successfully clearing the bouncing soccer ball ad from an onhockey stream so you can get to the volume button. That one stream that just shows a picture of the SAP center with faint city noises for pretty much the entire 20 minutes of intermission. Law Tigers, America's Motorcycle Lawyers. These might not all be relatable to you since you watch your hockey all legal and fancy-like, but to me, these are integral parts of the hockey watching experience and I think of them fondly when I'm reminiscing about the good old days.

imo, the rumours about them fighting came from a particular tarot reader who kept referring to a fight or situation that happened in boston and continually does these reads where they say that they are still not talking and that they are both pig-headed and want the other to break the silence first. people in their asks really believe that shit. they also did a read on how macklin feels about the new prospects and the one about keaton verhoeff was basically, mack likes his playing but has heard rumours about keaton and his friends so mack will keep his distance. even if you read those blogs with a discerning lens, that sort of crap puts doubt out there. this is what i meant went i sent an anon to you a while back. there is such a thing as writing and ethics and every poor soul who studied writing had to sit through those classes. i think it should be extended to all writing which asks writers to take accountability for their words. i don't care if they preface their work with "for entertainment purposes only", it still sticks. at least fan fic writer, hrpf etc say their work is a work of fiction and don't pretend it's real.

honestly i don't want to get into it, i've not responded to other asks about this but i will say i think people need to be more responsible for how they act online! and i actually don't mean the people who do these readings or people who do "tension posting" for fun purposes etc, i actually mean the people who read this stuff and take it as a definitive truth. i think it's time we all grew up and realized that you can't believe everything you read online. this is like the basic foundation of everything we're doing here, you can make stuff up and say whatever you want, but you have to be accountable for yourself and if you end up truly believing something someone wrote on their blog and it brings you to a state of actual upset, you need to do something about it to take care of yourself! rpf = FICTION. when i write a fic, i base about 5% of it on reality (the hockey stuff etc) the rest is completely made up. this is no different! we have to put things in perspective a bit and stop getting so worked up over nothing <3
