As most don’t know, your average honey bee has a top flying speed of 15mph. Tom Kelley’s 21mph honey bee’s have been trained to fly fasterthan all other bee’s to ensure they are getting the most flavorful nectar available from the best Finger Lakes wildflowers. If ever you see a bee and wonder if it’s one of the famous 21mph honey bee’s, It’s NOT. March 15, 2017 three weeks ago it was 60 degrees and the bees were just a flying. Today I hope they have clustered around the queen to keep her warm. The temp has been up and down all winter here in New York. Hopefully in the next few week it will get back to spring time weather and I can get into check the to see if they need to be feed.

Here it is March 1 2016 and we have a new location for my bees. We will be moving them to their new home some time in April. They have been doing well with the mild winter that we had this year. I will post again when we bring them home.

Well today is Jan 18, 2015 and I am just waiting for a warmer day to see is I can see any activity in the hive. Being my first winter I can not wait to see how I made out. As you see I gave them a lot of honey to get them through the winter. I will let you know when I check the hive. E-mail is [email protected]
