Boston Marathon 2019
Every year the Boston athletic Association hosts the Boston Marathon. Its a race open to anyone from any nation. The 26.2 mile course attracts over 30,000 runners. It begins in the suburbs and ends in the heart of downtown Boston. The men’s winner, Cherono, Lawrence (KEN), finished with a time of 02:07:57. The women’s winner, Degefa, Worknesh (ETH), finished with a time of 02:23:31 .
Eating Habits: Key to weight loss
Like many people I have dreams of losing weight. New years is only a few years out and it’s resolution time. Everyone tells themselves “I am going to get into shape this year”. The gyms become packed with people in January. By the time February comes, 90% of the people’s fitness resolutions are done for. This won’t be the case for me this year.
The problem with my weight loss is eating. No matter how much I work in the gym, I can undo all the calories burned within one meal. It takes over a hour of continuous movement to burn 1000 calories. I can eat that amount of calories in one bacon cheeseburger. It’s too easy for me to overeat my workouts.
My resolution this year is to eat better. I my current strategy for consuming less is by eating heavier meals around the time I workout. On the days I don't workout, I keep my meals light. Only eating enough to satisfy me from feeling too hungry. When times I do feel hungry between a meal, I eat nuts to keep me going.
Have been practicing this for over 2 weeks and lost 5 pounds. I will continue this for as far as I can. Eating less and less each week. My goal is to lose 10 pounds. I don't feel too hungry on the days I don't work out. I am adjusting to the new diet well but days I workout are tougher. My body craves to eat something and it's hard not to overeat. It becomes a struggle with will power not to take that extra bite.
