How can you ask me to trust you again?
Did I ask you to trust me at all?
How can you tell me you don’t want me back?
I don’t want you around me at all.

Did he? Why was she asking if she already knew? Also, what’s an arsch m... never mind ( nothing nice. good thing he can’t think in German ). So he’s a coward for letting the frustration out once in a while? She hit a sore spot, nothing new. Verbally— time to keep it that way.
“I didn’t…” yes, he did. His glance retreated to a wall, uselessly hoping it’d be more interesting than what he might’ve seen earlier. Or not. Who knows. There was more mumbling with a tinge of annoyance in his tone, “I didn’t see anything.”
That was supposed to be ‘say’. Whoops.
One might have expected Langley to turn on Shinji like a tiger about to eviscerate it’s prey, but she had something else up her sleeve.
“Y’know, normally I’d destroy you utterly, but I guess you can’t help being that way. I mean- you’re a typical disgusting boy and I’m a beautiful, mature young woman...” she sighed, as if to bear the burden of being ‘so attractive’ was taxing for her on varying levels.
“I supposed I can forgive you... If you get this question right: What is my best feature? I know there are so many, but try to pinpoint something that stands out above the rest,” she demanded, posing for good measure.
Truly, her humility was astounding.
“Shut the FUCK UP!”
"... You’re the one who lied." ( hello!! )
[Hey there! :D]
“Did you just mutter something under your breath, arsch mit ohren? Why don’t you put your Big Boy pants on and come say that to my face?”
He wouldn’t dare trespass onto her side of the apartment while she was changing, though it had less to do with gallantry and more with Shinji straight up being a coward. He wouldn’t know how to treat a beauty like her even if she threw herself at him.
Either way, Asuka was certain that he wouldn’t have the balls to repeat himself.
Asuka was briefly Gynophobic* after her mother died: She had an unreasonable and excessive fear of being left alone with adult (usually middle-aged) women. She would actively try to avoid being isolated with women and clung to male figures such as her father, or often displayed completely uninhibited friendliness with any other adult male in the vicinity- Even complete strangers.
This caused even more strain between Asuka and her step-mother, whom she was already aware disliked her.

Feel free to change pronouns to fit your needs.
I don´t want to be ordered around by anyone anymore, and I have no need for a past.
I’m so glad I was able to meet you in this life. Thank you.
Being cool was merely a paper-thin difference away from being empty.
Searching for more answers, despite the pain they may bring, is a much more honest way of living.
If there were a place lower than here, it would surely be hell.
I love her so much I could bite her tongue off and kill her.
’Happiness’ describes moments, and it’s never permanent.
You were scared they were going to laugh at you, right? So let them!
Wishing upon shooting stars doesn’t make them come true.
What right do you have to feel happy? You’re just a piece of shit.
I despise myself because others are too kind to me.
I’m afraid I’m not capable… of saving you.
Humans… Humans are so ugly and detestable!
You think you can do what normal people do?! There’s nothing- Absolutely NOTHING!
You’ve always been and will be a failure!
I’m only living by habit because dying’s just too scary.
Dammit, I’m a little annoyed…
To break and destroy… is also human
She was a person that someone like me should never, ever get close to.
… You’re the one who lied.
If you leave me alone… Just what am I supposed to do?
You’re just a kid. Don’t act like you know what you’re talking about.
I get depressed whenever I think… that my dying moment is going to be that lonely.
What the fuck are you laughing about? How is any of this funny at all?
Don’t go and be all happy like you’re some normal well-adjusted person, you worthless trash.
You reap what you sow.

The synch test went fantastically, as expected. The soul of Unit-02 didn’t reject him, instead welcoming him into the warm safety of her womb as though he was her child. Even if he was far, far from that. The old men had no concerns about whether he’d be able to pull it off or not, because of course he could. He’s Tabris, Adam’s vessel, the Fifth Child. He can play the Eva like a puppet, or as easily as he plays the piano.
Of course, not everyone was thrilled.
Namely the girl that originally piloted the Eva in question.
The Second is angry and hurt. She’s entirely dependent on her ability to pilot the Eva—without that, she crumbles. She knows she’s being replaced. It’s terrifying for her. Kaworu, however, doesn’t really care that much.
He thinks she’s weird.
There is no surprise on his face when he finds her waiting for him. She walks with purposeful steps right up to him, jabs her finger into his chest as she speaks, and Kaworu’s brows shoot up. Hands remain his his pockets, shoulders relaxed, his expression inscrutable.
“Clearly the others think differently,” he replies with a tilt of his head. “Considering you’re being replaced.”
Kaworu really has no interest in speaking with her, he’s far more interested in poking at the Third, wherever he was at the moment. He blinks slowly, turning his eyes away from her and down the corridor to the left, contemplating. Then he looks back down at her.
Their eyes meet. Kaworu doesn’t even flinch.
“It isn’t my fault if they think you’re useless now.”
She hated it, the way he barely reacted to her presence. That smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes, it made her feel... unsettled. And she really did not feel like backing down, all because the Fifth was probably a giant creep- She would never be able to live with herself if she actually let some lowly... paramecium like him get under her skin.
“You’re only back-up for me, as if I need it-” Asuka interjected, words dripping with disdain as she shrugged her shoulders and narrowed her eyes. The unimpressed and haughty expression on her face began to melt away into something more vaguely neutral when Nagisa kept talking as if he had anything of value to share.
The redhead’s eyes widened, her lips parting slightly in complete shock that he would even dare to openly say what he did. It was as though a curtain had fallen down all around her, the sound of the escalator and NERV’s public address system going silent as blood rushed to her ears. Her face felt hot, her chest tight, throat constricting as pure, indignant rage took over.
It happened in the blink of an eye, the movements almost akin to muscle memory: rotate the torso and hips counterclockwise, the sudden weight transfer from rear to lead foot powering the straight right to the opponent’s jaw. The fist is canted down and away in order to align those knuckles with the forearm bones and prevent a break- Her hands weren’t wrapped, after all.
“How DARE you, who the HELL do you think you are?!” she screamed, entirely unrestrained due to the sudden and intense anger making each pulse of blood in her veins feel like molten lava. “I started training to become a pilot when I was a CHILD, I graduated from Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich with HONORS- You’re NOBODY, you haven’t done a single thing with your pathetic life compared to ME! I’m SPECIAL!”
Her forearm and knuckles still throbbed painfully and her limbs were trembling, but she took another advancing step forward to roughly shove at the Fifth’s chest and shoulders- The sight of blood trailing from his mouth and the mottled bruise discoloring his skin barely even slaking her violent urges.
@serapostle
Dr. Akagi hadn’t minced words at all, Asuka knew exactly why the Fifth Child had arrived. After being continuously shown up by Shinji, of all people, her confidence in her own abilities had taken a serious blow. It wasn’t just the one off occurrence either, Ikari had been on a steady upwards path of improvement- Leaving her behind to choke on the dust of his wake. And even if the First didn’t show it, Asuka just knew that the pallid, crimson-eyed girl was laughing at her. Enjoying watching every moment of her struggle to maintain a synch ratio to enable even basic activation of her Unit... Even though she was nothing but a vapid, ass-kissing doll.
She may be a doll, but at least she can pilot her Eva.
Asuka’s fingernails left red crescents in the middle of her palms, arms tightening at her sides as she waited for Nagisa to leave the preparation rooms they used to change between their civilian clothes and plug suits. She’d overheard the technicians in the ladies restroom, clucking away like old hens about the Fifth’s miraculous abilities, that he could synch to Unit-02 without the core even being reformatted to his specifications. Her Unit- the one she’d trained specifically to command. If it weren’t weird, she’d almost consider Unit-02 like an extension of her own body, it was that jarring to imagine anyone else at the helm.
The Fifth was taller than she had expected, better-looking as well. If she didn’t absolutely hate his guts from the feathery spikes of his hair down to the tips of his toes, she might even have tried to play this differently- At least from a different angle than immediately suspicious and hostile.
“Hey, you!” she called out, striding over with her chest pushed out and her chin held at a high, haughty angle.
“I’m not sure what kind of tricks you pulled to get those readings but no one else can synch with Unit-02 as well as I can- I’m the pilot! So don’t get too comfortable and think that you can just walk in here and take that away from me!”
She jabbed her index finger right against the middle of his sternum for good measure, stormy blue eyes piercing straight back through his gaze like daggers.
