The older I get the more I admire people who are earnestly, genuinely into whatever their thing is. I know it sounds like an annoying cliche but unless you're being cruel or hurtful there is really no need to be normal about things. The dude with the bad fake accent at the renaissance faire is having the time of his life. The people having photoshoots with their fashion dolls are loving it. The old lady with a yard unreasonably full of tacky ass lawn ornaments is having a blast, HOA be damned.

As a nerdy woman I wish modern fandom spaces were more keen on intellectually honest discussions of media. I want to talk about stories, characters, and themes I enjoy without constantly being subjected to thinly veiled gendie ideology-- or about how transition could "fix" my favourite female characters. Women have been the backbone of fandom hobbies for more than half a century. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to enjoy your hobbies in this majority female space (which tumblr is, despite many of those women being trans-identified) without being constantly subjected to misogny?

I think a lot of people have only a surface level understanding of bodily autonomy. I've talked to people who are pro surrogacy and pro sex industry because they think women should be able to do what they want with their bodies, including sell them. But under that model, you're selling away your own bodily autonomy. You cannot be fully in control of yourself while under financial coercion. You can't have the choice to end a surrogate pregnancy at any time when you rely on that money to get by, and the same for women in the sex industry. You cannot consent to sex when the alternative is not having enough money to pay rent. The buying and selling of bodily functions is a removal of autonomy, not an expression of it.

i find it really annoying when people only choose to talk about the pipeline of serial killers harming animals before they go and actually kill people but refuse to talk about how serial killers will also often watch violent porn and have kinks related to violence. the hatred of women is just as much as a link to male murderers as animal cruelty is but if we start to have that conversation means that we’d also have to finally realize that every single misogynistic man is most likely on the edge of going on a killing spree

like even if you want to consider transwomen women it's still narcissistic and misogynistic to whine everytime women talk about their experiences living in a world as a female. you don't have to relate to everything every woman ever says but you should still be empathetic and allow them to speak. for example I can't relate to every experience a woman living in rural Nigeria says but I can still support her and her right to share her experiences. this lack of solidarity is one of the reasons transwomen can never be feminists.

I love how all the TIFs I know agree with me in private when I talk about how harmful trans ideology is, but in public they still yell loudly abt how trans rights are human rights, and how we should give hormone blockers to children, yadda yadda. All this just to appease the TIMs running their groups... ... and with love I mean I am terrified for these women who feel so petrified by their own biological reality that they play nice with the very same men causing them distress.
