i'm mostly here to have fun and because i'm extremely attached to will as a character and i'm not ready to let go yet. there's not many rules because chances are if you're here we have interacted before and i already know you're chill, but general rp etiquette applies.
i will only follow people i can see myself interacting with. if we're mutuals this means i want to interact with you! i'm usually good at sending memes/taking the first step to make sure the first interaction happens but you're always welcome to send prompts or ims :)
there's no expiration date for threads or memes. my activity will most likely be spotty as my inspiration comes and goes ( and generally some weeks i'm busier than others ) but trust i plan to continue any active threads that we have. my hope for this blog is to focus on developing dynamics and just having fun while writing.
i don't really know what else to say other than i love will with my entire heart and i really just want to explore him as a character and expand on what we have seen on the screen. my portrayal comes from my personal understanding of his character and might not always be 100% canon-compliant.

after surviving a week in the upside down and being possessed by the mind flayer only a year later, will byers wants nothing more than to go back to being his normal self. still having to attend regular check-ups for his health and waking up most nights screaming in terror, his free time is devoted to hanging out with his friends and planning d&d sessions. as it becomes increasingly clear that his friends' priorities have changed and he's being left behind, will has to face the harsh truth: there are things that make him fundamentally different from his friends, things that he cannot change, feelings that have always been there, buried underneath. his severed connection to the upside down is only another thing that sets him apart.

while initially upset about the change, moving to california gives will the freedom to explore his identity outside of everything that happened to him as a child. zombie boy no more, will starts coming to terms with everything that sets him apart from his friends and begins to discover that being different doesn't always have to be a bad thing. however when the distance puts a strain on certain friendships, he has to learn how to navigate the complicated feelings that have begun to arise.
𝗐𝖾 𝖼𝖺𝗇 𝖻𝖾 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗲𝘀 ( 1987 )
back in hawkins, will's thoughts start reflecting a quiet resentment that was never there before. blaming himself and feeling guilty, he keeps this to himself while trying to deal with it as best he can. what he doesn't know is that this is vecna trying to mess with his mind, isolate him, make him bitter. will becomes increasingly withdrawn and quiet around his family and friends. putting up a front becomes more difficult as memories come back to haunt him, and his mind starts to feel more like a prison rather than a safe space. when the wheelers are attacked and will is forced to watch and feel everything, the lines between himself and the hive mind start blurring. after unlocking his powers, vecna tries to get will to join him. he tries to convince will that his friends don't know him, don't appreciate him, that he'll never belong with them. but if he joins him, he'd be the most important piece. they could work together and reshape the world into a place where they belong.
𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗁𝖾𝖺𝗏𝖾𝗇 ( 1988— )
after defeating vecna, will finally gets the chance to be a normal teenager. applying for university and learning how to navigate this world without the looming threat of vecna or the mind flyer becomes his biggest challenge. it's not always easy, and there are things that are forever changed about him, but for the first time it feels like he has time. time to learn more about himself, to explore his identity, to be unapologetically himself. he gets accepted into an art program at nyu and moves to new york to start college.
