Cappuccino kind of night ;-)
Iâve been MIA for a bit, but that doesnât mean I haven't had my dose of coffeeÂ

Campesino Coffee House: I will have to give this place a 2nd chance because it was late and the service was subpar (we basically were denied coffee mugs because they were cleaning up already so we got to-go cups) Mind you it was still 1 hour til closing, but so be it. I will have to go back and truly blog about it.....other than that, I loved this art outside the coffee house :-) Xoxo, Monica
SWEET city center
Had one of my faves last night while in city center, Sweet Joy which is flavored coffee with almond and some chocolate. What I love is that it's not overly sweet....if you go I highly recommend the macaroons too!!
Life is short. Make it SWEET <3

Coffee Goodness with TURKISH ROOTS
This quaint little coffee shop was a unique experience! Being October, I went straight for the seasonal menu and actually bypassed the pumpkin coffee! [Insert shocked face] I know, right??!! But I wanted to venture out....so I got the Apple Spiced coffee and it came beautifully served (photo below) It was a great balance of sweetness with 2 shots of espresso. I loved this place especially the service and attention to detail! It's full of nautical decor which makes sense after hearing the back story of the owner and the crowd is definitely a good mix and the cafe is not too loud or too quiet. So glad I finally made it here!!!
Classics tales of pirates, battleships, and war filled my imagination⌠A mid 16th Century Admiral who dominated the Mediterranean named Hayreddin Barbarossa also known as âRed Beardâ or âBarbarossaâ ⌠I left this coffee shop wanting to read up on this guy and I did... Found an article titled âBad Ass of the Week: Hayreddin Barbarossaâ CLICK HERE FOR LINK.
What do you do when you also served the Turkish Navy for about 5 years or more, get an awesome looking pin and you have a passion for coffee⌠Yup, you guessed right. You open up a coffee shop thatâs sea themed, get a cool looking logo with a red beard on it, plaster it on all of your cups, name it âBarbarossa Coffee Shopâ, put on a cool green vintage looking apron, add the 5-year vintage pin and serve coffee. Simply the best idea someone ever had. That someone is owner Ozzy. Iâm sure heâll share his story. Just ASK!
I forgot to bring my mug, god damn it! but all is well and the evening was a success. This is our first collaborated blog so bear with us as we work out the kinks of how this will look. Iâm kind of curious to see if you guys can decipher who wrote what so guesses are welcome!  We all had something different. I wanted to try something⌠well something Iâm not used to and they didnât disappoint. I ended up with a fruity Mexican bean which they then brewed in a Chemex and it was something Iâve never seen. (Donât worry, I got a video clip for you guys!) I ended up adding some creamer to my coffee just FYI readers. I downed my coffee with their Barbarossa special bagel. Yeah, itâs an everything bagel smeared with cream cheese, topped with turkey and tomatoes all toasted and warm as it hits your table! Not a lot of people pay attention to silverware like I do. Small things like silverware go a long way and they NAILED IT.  Itâs actual silverware, none of this plastic nonsense or fake crap itâs real. Iâm telling you it makes a grand of a difference and it just goes to show how far apart they have set themselves from other shops.
I tend to jump around in my blogs and in general when I write and speak so I also wanted to say that after starting this coffee blog Iâm learning so much about coffee, its passion and that like anything else thereâs so much history behind it. No matter which one I visit it always has a little back story and I think thatâs what I like about this blog so far. Barbarossa is place you can come to chat it up, laugh it up and study as well. They have light fun music that plays in the background so itâs not completely dead silence. If you were wondering if we sang along to some tunes⌠ yes, we did and they loved us for it. Well at least thatâs what Iâm telling myself. Â
Wanting some fresh air? No worries there, they also have outside seating so it is safe to say pets are welcome and Yes, I am bringing my four-legged child next time. Â

Boomtown Coffee in the Heights
Cute and modern coffee shop in the Heights on 19th street <3 I happened to be across the street at Casa Ramirez for the LiL Libros Selena book party and wanted something light to eat, but the kitchen was closed so I settled for a kiwi & raspberry oats bar....OMG delicious!! OK on to the best part....the coffee!!
This cafĂŠ is all white and splattered with different canvases of art...my personal favorite below:
The menu has some of the usual great stuff and some new creations I've never heard of, so of course I went for something new!
I ordered a SHAKARATO which was composed of: Espresso, Agave, Citrus Zest & Bitters
It's a small glass of cold coffee with some fresh flavor (See below) I loved it!! Don't delay in checking this place out :D xoxo my coffee lovers

CafĂŠ de Olla, Traditions from Mexico
OMG! When I found this place on Yelp, I knew we had to go! I went to the same cafĂŠ earlier this year in Puerto Vallarta so I knew it was a sign! CafĂŠ de Olla is a rare find for me as it has to be made in a very specific way...it's all about the clay pot and canela (see photos below) CafĂŠ de Olla brings me the best childhood memories visiting my abuelitos in San Marcos, Durango <3 I love that it's naturally sweetened!
OK, now to my review of this lovely spot....
Greetings from Burbank, CA...
This place was the nicest, quaint restaurant with friendly service...the food was amazing, their specialty is chilaquiles so that's what I had and YUMMY, they hit the spot!! On to the coffee.....WOW!! So the CafĂŠ de Olla was so tasty, I had 3 cups LoL It was very hot (suegro would approve) and the natural sweetener, canela completed my morning!!
Next up, the location....I truly enjoyed their use of space...they had a cute painting of the CafĂŠ and a wall full of inspiring quotes...Be someone's reason to smile was my fave :)
I'm looking forward to coming back here!! Oh, also on the plus side- they serve breakfast all day!! Get you some, my pretties!! Xoxo....

Coffee...please never leave me!!
My sister traveled all the way to Cyprus⌠looking for a coffee shop in Houston to try this mug out⌠preferably a coffee shop close to its country of origin! Any suggestions would be great
DANCING IN ARABIAN COFFEE HOUSES.
âIt all began with dancing goatsâ
I honestly just took the INDIAN LEAP into a magical yet sophisticated coffee shop and itâs AMAZING and Iâm not just saying that..( a little inside joke between us girls.)Â
I walked in and itâs EMPTY. Thatâs just ridiculous but good in way because Itâs just me and JOE (the barista) and boy does he know his coffee, told him it was my first time here and he was eager to show me the ropes. First question was âhow do you like your coffee?â Â
Iâm sorta of in between⌠I like it not too strong nor too weak so he suggested the KUMBAKONAM and guys they have pastries and food here too.. for the inner foodies. I am literally having a feast and it was well worth it. Things I grabbed were a veggie samosa and a meat samosa..going into pastries I enjoyed a Chom Chom and a Kula Jamun⌠moving along young lads..  Joe is like a little historian and tells me little history facts here and there about each coffee grind and Iâm intrigued. Heâs genuinely surprised that I tell him to just serve my coffee the way he likes it and that was the best choice cause it came out delicious, he even brought me a separate cup with a little bit of coffee so I could taste it as it cooled down a bit. This CUP has literally just the right amount of brown sugar, milk and coffee. BONUS: Joe brought me a customary âBiscuitâ that they typically have in India with their daily brew and it hit the spot. The ambiance is just STELLAR they have these off the charts seats which are super COMFY and they have Indian themed coasters, Like how RAD is that. ( I seriously want to take the coaster as memorabilia) 20 mins in and Iâm now no longer soloâŚ. and Joe knows everyone as they come in.. they have regulars and he even knows what they want without asking⌠UH heâs like âPRO BARISTA STATUSâÂ
All of this blogging and failing to tell you guys where this little gem is hidden⌠so I happen to be on this side of town and my sister was saying that we started this blog adventure but hadnât visited any coffee shops so I decided to yelp coffee shops and this popped up. I had a hard time finding it but Iâm horrible at directions and well that was probably my fault. so hereâs the INFO on this joint.

I reread this blog and it seems like Joe stole the story but I wouldnât change it. He honestly grabbed my attention. Heâs super informative, nice and just all around pleasant which makes the place just comfy and then he brings you a cup of coffee and it just tops it. I told him I would bring my sisters back and I canât wait. I know they are going to fall in love with the coffee, ambiance and JOE.Â
P.S. Iâll leave you guessing on Joe, I hope this makes you guys wanna pop in and say âHiâ because youâre in for a treat plus youâll get amazing coffee.Â
