he was carelessly scrolling through his phone on his bed; just browsing through different american sites that had some interesting articles about non-conventional ways of creating an art-piece. at least, until he was rudely interrupted by a sudden pop up on his touch screen. confused, he figured it was just the website acting up on him – he attempted to press his finger against the small x in the corner, but to no avail. a loud groan escaped him, frustrated. was this the way the american government was spying on their people? who knows. though, this ad seemed a bit… odd. he didn’t quite read through it the first time, but it was already in his native tongue – so this must’ve been something else.
upon reading the little virus, he grew concerned. his finger moved to press the word ‘ yusuke ‘ – noting that this was his name, & the pop up disappeared. thankful for his luck, he continued to attempt to read through the poorly google-translated page. only to have another pop-up appear; he felt his brows furrow. this is getting a little aggravating, especially since he just cracked the code on the other one. he wasn’t sure if this was a glitch; or perhaps a certain orange-haired hacker was up to some gimmick. his finger tried to press almost every word & nothing was working, what the hell was happening? pouting in almost defeat, he was lucky enough to have the word ‘ i ‘ be at the end of his fingertip. rejoicing in the fact that he cracked it again, he let a smile curl on his lips once more.
at this point it was almost like a puzzle. when the third one popped up, he was cautious in his choices. so far, it seemed like the hacker wanted to leave a message for the fox; expecting it to have a crude outcome. the next answers went as followed; ‘ have ‘ ‘ a ‘ ‘ confession ‘ ‘ for ‘ ‘ you ‘ – which seemed innocent enough. he concluded that her next few moves would be an insult toward him; he was almost amused at this point. yet; he felt his heart starting to beat against his chest with the next wave of answers; ‘ i ‘ ‘ think ‘ ‘ i ‘ ‘ love ‘ ‘ you ‘ — this had to be a cruel joke. no way would she ever — ever gain some form of feelings toward the artist.
after all; she barely tolerated him at times. though… she could have that popular anime trope of being what one would call a “ tsundere “ – which he could understand. biting down on his lower lip in thought, how was he supposed to go about this? did he return these feelings? he dived into the thought in his late night sessions of overthinking - he had realized he had picked up a certain connection with the girl within the past few weeks, but never acted on them believing she’d think he was disgusting. he will admit, he was impressed she attempted to make the first move. that was quite brave of her. his head shook, an amused snort passing through his nostrils as he threw his phone into his pocket, allowing the final pop up on his phone. he had to see her for himself; so he gathered the little money he had to his name, & was quick to catch the next train.
Futaba couldn't function after sending that virus over to his phone. She was a nervous wreck-- She couldn't sit still, nor could she stop trembling. Why did she do that? Why did she make it worse? She ALWAYS made everything worse, and now Yusuke was going to hate her, just like everyone else, but he'd actually tell her that, and--
Futaba rocked herself back and forth on her bed. She wasn't ready, what made her think she was ready? Before she attacked his phone, she left the front door to the house unlocked, because she knew that if she didn't do it then, she'd never pluck up the courage to do it later.
She figured she should at least look somewhat presentable, if she was going to do this properly. Thus, she spent whatever time she had getting ready. She even straightened things up in her room, sort of! These things helped calm her mind at the time, but only a little.
When she was done cleaning herself and her room up, she had nothing left to do but wait. And to be frank, the suspense was killing her! The redhead continued rocking back and forth, and playing with her hair, and her hands, and honestly just being a wreck in general. That's when she heard the door to the house open.
Her mind started screaming. So, doing what any sane person wouldn't do, she rushed into her closet and hid. Maybe Yusuke would go away if he realized she wasn't there.
The one problem? She left the door to her room open and forgot to close it.
