Highlights from the superb Photo Prize exhibition at the Photographers Gallery - this year has been the most powerful, intriguing, important group of artists and work yet. Had to visit three times to do it justice and take it all in. Still a few days to vireo if you’ve not seen it yet.
Self portrait from found objects - 15 minute challenge set by Jo Hunter in her new Creative Club which started this week. Many of these things were already in place in my studio, I just had to rearrange them a little…
Thunder and dark skies on the way to see Tuner on the big screen - thinking about piano keys and chaos and perfection
Starting June in the appropriately named June8 - a sunny lunch with mum and lovely boyfriend, sharing leek and yoghurt soup, bulgur salad and a tuna melt
Scallops and agretti for supper
I finally had time to pick up my Indie x Indie book of the month from brilliant independent bookshop Backstory (excellent coffee too). Indie x Indie is a great subscription service where the choices take me out of my usual reading selections. Looking forward to seeing where this month’s pick will take me!
All the books I read in May
Flowers in my window box, flowers in my hair. May coming to a close with the curtain call of a rare micro blue moon (no photo but it was spectacular)
Catherine Opie at the National Portrait Gallery
Green apple and cucumber gazpacho, fattoush and noodle salad in the garden at Home cafe - so many flavours, colours and textures.
French strawberry tart at the French Tarte
Andalusian almond soup, olive oil, grapes
Hot weather survival kit
Katherine Jones at Rabley Gallery at the London Original Print Fair - if only I had wall space (and budget) for these
Highlights from last week at the London Original Print Fair: Ken Kiff
My favourite bar. Lou always makes the most beautiful coffee.
