as an aroace i LOVE when a main character has zero love/intimate interest, ive never been able to relate more tbh.
I can only really read like- surface-level slowburn stuff since anything more than that throws me off of the story i was involved in 😭 just cus its not what im interested in and i cant relate
I think its also nice because sometimes the story is about the world and people rather than the relationships of the main character, and sometimes adding in crushes and stuff can muddle the story and become the main focus instead. (Unless done well ofc!)
But honestly thats just my opinion, I can see how people who are into romance may be underwhelmed by a story without it, just as much as people who aren’t into romance are underwhelmed by a story with it.
So it goes both ways, :> just find the type of story you like, some things may not be for you and thats okay <3
