i'll expand on her powers later but basically, blair is able to manipulate perceptions. she's able to compel people to see her version of events, as well as creating illusions that mask true situations + emotions. not via touch but through her gaze. vought later will recruit her as a tool to influence public perception. i almost put this on twt in an ooc post but i'll refrain & rather post it here. i think blair's power being so interwined with her ability to communicate is honestly... such a curse in a way, & also so fitting for her character as well. there's also this fear inside her that, if she hypothetically discusses a situation with someone [nate, serena, etcetera] that she'll accidentally use her powers in a negative way that'll result in... absolute chaos? blair's an exaggerator & she knows this, & i definitely think when she was younger something happened where— she exaggerated a story & total mayhem happened. that being said, i think it's really in tune with blair's character to never really be able to showcase her vulnerable side out of that fear of something going crazy.

it's become their morning ritual of sorts. no longer are the days of meeting her minions on the steps of the met before making their way to constance. nowadays, the queen b opts for meeting her king with two cups of jitter bean coffee outside the god-u crimefighting hall. a salted cream cold brew in one hand for herself & a white americano in the other for him, when blair spots nate across the courtyard, she can't help but smile. (even after all these years, she does cartwheels in her stomach. that's true love.) prada heels clicking against the sidewalk, chanel purse slung across her body, she makes her way over. as soon as blair's standing behind him, the coffee cups are placed aside before her hands cover his eyes.

❝ surprise! ❞ she's aware it's not really a surprise. (it's a morning ritual they share together, after all. it's the furthest thing from a surprise.) but it doesn't stop her from wearing her heart on her sleeve. the smile is still worn across her face as she lifts both hands from his irises, the cup of americano being brought into his view. ❝ it's your favorite as always— ❞ the coffee cup is passed in nate's direction before she takes a sip of her own latte, a refreshed sigh for the dramatics being exhaled.

❝ so, what's on the agenda for tonight? & please don't say we're watching football in luke's dorm again. if you do, i think i'd rather stumble into oncoming traffic on park avenue. ❞
