Getting your Garbage Disposal Unstuck
Is your drain clogged? Do you use a garbage disposal? Then perhaps your drain is not clogged, but your garbage disposal is stuck. Often times your washing dishes and the water seems to pile up in the sink. What do you do?
Her are some tips!
1) first clear the drain from any visible obstructions
2) Then, if you have a garbage disposal, turn the disposal on
3) If your disposal is not working, then use the allen wrench to fix the disposal
The garbage disposal is often the root of the drain not clearing. When you purchased the unit, they gave you a tool called a key. The key is used at the under side(bottom) of the disposal the crank the unit manually. Do this while off. This will dislodge any debris stopping the disposal from working.
Once finished then turn the disposal back on and see if the drain clears. If you do not have a disposal key, then get an allen wrench that fits the socket size and use that.
There is nothing worse than a clogged drain. If this still does not seem to clear the drain, then call an expert before doing anything else. Please avoid putting a drain cleaning solution into the drain. This will only make matters worse.
