I think it’s really confusing to be a young woman because you’re not sure what you should aspire to be: Pretty and skinny and oozing sex appeal, or powerful and kickass and smart and successful? The thing is, if you aspire to be the first one, you’ll be criticized for being shallow; if you aspire to be the second one, you’ll be frightened you won’t be attractive enough. And in movies/television, all the powerful, kickass women are pretty and skinny and oozing sex appeal. So really, we’re being told we need to aspire to be ALL these things and that is a LOT OF PRESSURE
