A soft âoof!â escapes Robertâs lips, along with the air in his lungs, as heâs suddenly greeted in such aparticular manner by none other than Jonathan Joestar. Even when theblond himself has witnessed countless times the impressive strengthof the gentleman, it still feels a bit strange, as the broad, 5â11âtall, man that Robert is, to be lifted off the ground with so muchease by him, as if he was just a small child.

Luckily for Robert,he is one tough guy himself. While Jonathanâs hug is a considerablytight one (most people would have found themselves struggling a greatdeal in that tight embrace, no doubts about it), it isnâttight enough to genuinely hurt him or cause him some seriousdiscomfort. His ribcage is protesting a bit, yes, and it is alsoproving to be a bit hard to breathe normally, too, but it isnâtthat big of a deal, really.
Speedwagonâsarms remain free, both hanging loosely at first, as surprise takesover. But they soon find their way around the tallermanâs broad shoulders, and heâs able to return the hug in thesame warm manner.
âMisterJoestarâŠâ He finally speaks, trying not to make it too painfullyobvious that heâs a bit short of breath, not wishing to be somekind of a party pooper and ruin Jonathanâs happy mood. Either way,thereâs a genuine smile stretching Speedwagonâs lips as hespeaks. Thereâs something truly fulfilling about this type ofexchanges, even for someone like him who has rarely ever had thechance to experience them. He discreetly wiggles a bit in theembrace, trying without much luck to get some air into his lungs.
âI do appreciatethis kind gesture of yours, and Iâd âate tâ be one tâ ruin themood, butâŠâ  He pauses a bit, still on the fence about saying it,but he ends up letting it out anyway, ââŠI canât breatheâŠâ His little smile turning a tad sheepish this time. Of course he didnâtwant the embrace to come to an end. Not like that, at least. So, once hisfeet are back on the ground, Robert feels like making up for spoilingthe fun but, also, finding this as a good opportunity to give backsome of that kindness heâs always received from the gentleman andshow him some gratitude as well.
âI donât thinkIâve ever told you this openly beforeââ He begins; the gentleexpression from before never fading away and turning softer instead.ââBut, Iâm truly glad to âave âad the good fortune of meetinâ you even if, well⊠it was not exactly in the most optimal conditionsâŠâ He let out a soft laugh before he went on. âAll the kindness youâve showed towards me and jusâ⊠every single thing youâve done forme ever since⊠It really means a lot, Sir!â A hand goes up to his hat, removing it and bringing it close to his chest, and the blond bows his head, humbly. It is at this point thathe can be 100% sure that his cheeks are turning a light shade ofpink. Heâs never been precisely good at handling genuine affectionaimed at him without turning into a blushing mess and heâs wellaware of it.
And he hates that about himself, because thatâs one of the traits that can cause you a lot of trouble in places like the slums, but there is only somuch he can do about it.
In an âoh, screw it!â kind of moment, though,Speedwagon cups Jonathanâs face with both hands, gently pulling himdown to his face level, and presses a soft, tender, kiss to thebrunetâs cheek, hoping the gesture would convey all those feelings and gratitude that words might never be able to fully express. Robert is now completely sure that the pink dustinghis own cheeks has turned a much redder shade.
