The Lost Boys Musical AU where Michael is deaf and when he meets the boys he explains how he can feel the vibrations of their music and he really loves their songs.

David knows sign language because he picked up on it when he was a soldier. He gets some new lessons for more modern signing/vocabulary, and hires an ASL interpreter for their shows. David still likes to sign himself during his performance because he wants to "sing" directly to Michael.

When they start dating, he ends every show with the "I love you" sign pointed right at Michael. The audience assumes he's doing it to say he loves his fans (or they mistake it for the "rock on" sign), but Michael knows it's just for him 🤟

Giving Michael the lyric "sometimes you've gotta go with your heart, not your brain" so early on was actually a great way to explain how he ends up drinking blood and jumping off a bridge.

My fav headcanon trope is Ilya being absolutely BAFFLED by how other men treat their partners. Like he kind of forgot what it was like to be a straight dude (though he's met gay men who do the same shit) and he's always hearing guys talking about stuff like how much they like getting away from their partners, how they nitpick little things their partners do for them like the food they make, how they hate date nights, how their sex lives are stake cause their partner doesn't wanna fuck every single day.

And Ilya's jaw is on the floor because he's literally obsessed with Shane. He loves spending days on end with just him. He loves every little thing Shane does for him, he loves planning the perfect date nights that Shane will love, he loves having sex with him but he also loves the nights they spend just cuddled up together and never once, even when he has been at his horniest has he been upset or disappointed with Shane for not being in the mood. He loves going the extra mile for him. Gently massaging him after a workout or tough practice. Setting up Shane's little evening hobby, his glasses and water and lighting a candle so Shane can relax without thinking about it.

He loves doing mundane things with him like going to the store and cleaning the house. He loves traveling with him. And Ilya realizes truly for the first time how frequently men think relationships are owed to them, not something they need to earn or work for. And they expect their partner to meet every expectation without having to meet any on their own. And most of all it just blows Ilya's mind that these men do not LIKE their partners even a little. He feels so lucky to have found someone who sees him truly as a second half and not as a necessary burden, and also takes extra note to make sure he never ever makes Shane feel the way these men make their partners feel.
