Did you know that lemurs the size of gorillas used to roam the rainforests of Madagascar? This skull belongs to an extinct genus of giant lemurs known as Paleopropithecus, or sloth lemurs. They disappeared from Madagascar as recently as 500 years ago, likely due to overhunting by humans.
