A blink before a soft awkward laugh escaped Izuku, an embarrassed blush crawling onto freckled cheeks as he looked down. He appreciated her words, appreciated how they warmed him, if only slightly - he never considered himself BRAVE, no. He’d always been a scared-y cat at best, shaking and scared. Brave people weren’t scared, they didn’t shake when they were needed at their best. ALL MIGHT was brave and even has he grew weaker, that never faded. He never shook, never appeared to be scared. Not like Izuku.

“A-Ah, yeah,” He smiles a soft, wobbly smile in his classmates direction, “I-I’m a bit STUBBORN, I guess.” He’d been told that many times, been hassled and scolded by Pros and his own classmates alike. He was reckless in battle, to the point of his own destruction. It was something he needed to work on GREATLY, and he was trying - he worked hard, worked for it every day. Every morning in his sessions with All Might and then every right an hour after dinner. He worked and worked and did everything he could to hone his quirk. To make up all the time he lost. 

“Y-You’re really brave, Kyoka-chan.”

A blush crawled across freckled features as the words reached Izuku, “W-Wha-!” He yelped, a wobbly smile pulling at his lips, “M-Most people say it looks p-plain or w-weird, but I-I mean it looks a lot like my mom’s, j-just CURLIER. It’s a-also kinda a-all over the place but I can never do m-much with it. B-BUT, ah, I-” Izuku cleared his throat, trying to stop his rambling before it really took hold of him, “T-Thank you.” His smile grew despite his wobbliness as the blush deepened, no one had ever given him compliments on is physical appearance before - though to say he had many compliments in his life at ALL would be a stretch.

            “  Izuku is the first person I talked to from 1-A if you don’t include Shouto.  He helped me a lot with my switch into the hero course.  I guess you could say I help him with English in return,  but I would’ve done it anyway if he wanted.  He was one of my first friends in the class,  and I definitely have more now because of that.  ”   Hand lifted to conceal a chuckle.   “  He knows a lot about heroes,  even our classmates — even  ME  just from the Sports Festival.  That was a surprise.  It’s pretty cool,  actually.  Plus,  whenever he starts talking about quirks,  I can sketch prototype gear for whoever it is.  Just for fun.  ”

            Hiro exhaled softly.   “  The one quirk he’s vague about is his.  I don’t really know how it works,  but it rebounds and hurts  HIM  a lot.  And he’s strong — stronger than me and probably almost all of our classmates — but I  KNOW  the injuries he’s getting.  The medical scanner doesn’t lie.  I dunno if he really means it when he says he doesn’t feel the pain sometimes,  but it’s…  hard to believe when my scanner pics up multiple breaks.  I guess…  ‘cause,  y’know,  TADASHI…  it kinda scares me.  I..  hope he knows what he’s doing.  ”   ( I can’t lose anyone else. )   /   @supcrmight​ !
