Ah, that's honestly a tie between Reno and Marcus! I don't have a post about Reno yet, but the TL;DR on them both:

Marcus is a short-tempered, self-righteous asshole either horrifyingly aware or hilariously unaware of all the terrible things he does, no in between—the sort of guy that will frame his abuse of you as "just" and "deserved". Excellent at making you feel like you're the insane one for being upset by whatever he said or did.

Reno is a short-tempered, self-righteous asshole either horrifyingly aware or hilariously unaware of all the terrible things he does, no in between—the sort of guy that will frame his abuse of you as "just" and "deserved". Excellent at making you feel like you're the insane one for being upset by whatever he said or did.

They're both respected authority figures in their own lives, heads of their own households that will not stand to have that status disputed, and utterly ruthless in all aspects of their lives. They will get what they want, no matter how dirty the means need to get.

In Hart Syndrome, our two MCs have the unfortunate displeasure of having to square off against Marcus.

In Yours with Love, the PoV belongs to Reno as he tells the story of Deshay, his newest plaything. Unreliable narrator and biased framing of everything is a go.

And I greatly love them both! They see no error in their ways, think others are the ones in need of redemption, and have no interest in learning any other perspectives on life and nature and rightness.

Whether either ever get what's coming to them, well. If you know you know.
