thinking of sakiko bandori. i have never seen a fandom so wrong about a character in my life she did not "love too much" she violently self destructed like half of her (good) relationships because of her severe ongoing trauma and while understandable means she hurt many people greatly AND THATS THE BEST PART! ITS SO AWESOME THAT SHE KIND OF SUCKS. IT ADDS REALLY GOOD DEPTH TO HER PAST "TRAUMATIZED MARTYR"

its about this destructive cycle with her character that makes her so interesting. self vilification to lashing out to more self vilification to avoidance to Ultra Self Vilification. its even a cycle we can see in her dad AND we can see that avoidance in sadaharu even which haunts me. she never had the chance to learn anything else bro. but the thing is about self vilification (and especially with the way she acts while doing it) is that it helps fucking no one! during mygo she is hurting everyone she loves believing it to be helpful because she struggles with needing to feel in control i think. sakiko is infinitely selfless in some ways but is also infinitely selfish in a lot of other ways. its a bit hard to be hard on her now though considering shes gonna be in ave mujica superhell for the rest of her life nobody deserves that shit 😭 nightmare band i cannot wait to see them sitting next to millsage and ikka dumb rock (and sincerely mourning the fact we will not see them with hello happy world. IT COULD HAVE WORKED IT COULD HAVE WORKED i shout being dragged away)

all this to say sakiko is so complex and i love her and i hate her and she is gods least favorite 15 year old girl and she is also god and people sanding her down to "did no wrong/everything she did is vindicated bc trauma" pmo so bad i swear to god people were actually saying this. ave mujica is a show about accepting the darkness within yourself as said by uikas va after all. fandoms probably gotten better i just havent had much of a window in on the fandom since avemuji ended lolol
