The following is an informational in regards to the overwhelming misinformation flooding the internet about trans people. But first, a preamble written with a specific person in mind, but something many might be able to relate to. As you read, keep in mind that these are my friends, both alive and dead. They deserve respect and if you disagree remove yourself from my life. This is no differing of opinion. This isn’t up for debate. Science says we’re right and you’re wrong. Period. Your hateful and false narratives are hurting real people. MY FRIENDS. You’re ripping away their agency. Stripping them of their rights and bodily autonomy. Making them outcasts. And you have the AUDACITY to say “oh, it’s just a differing of opinion.” No, it’s not. And you should have kept your mouth shut.

It’s not a difference of opinion. It’s a rejection of decades of peer-reviewed science, lived experience, and international medical consensus.

Let’s be clear:

• Being trans is not a mental illness. That’s affirmed by the American Psychological Association, the American Medical Association, the World Health Organization, and countless other global health bodies.

• Gender-affirming care is effective. Studies show that when trans youth are supported in their identities, rates of depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation drop dramatically.

• Surgeries on children are exceedingly rare and heavily regulated. The vast majority of care for minors is social (like pronouns and names) or reversible (like puberty blockers).

Trans people aren’t confused, trendy, or broken. They’re human beings asking to be recognized and respected.

You’re feeding into the same logic that justifies book bans, school censorship, and even violence against groups of people.

At some point, clinging to debunked talking points in the face of overwhelming evidence isn’t just ignorance—it’s cruelty.

Why We Speak

To triumph, all the wicked need is our silence as they pursue their tyranny.

For in that silence, we will sadly find that our path lies beside complicity.

True courage stands and speaks its mind; it is undaunted, damn the cost–

It knows the power held in every voice and just how much could still be lost.

This is why, in these times, we must all speak–loud and proud and clear;

Why we must have faith in one another and why we cannot give in to fear.

Why we must stand firm in the face of hate, even when it feels we must move the heavens;

Remembering, always, the simple, eternal truth that from our lips leap weapons!
