Russell Adler Hot Take

I lost the post to reply to but.
Russell Adler is a good example of a morally grey character. He’s not inherently good or evil.
He’s had to make choices that aren’t wrong but also aren’t right, I.e= Killing Bell at the end or even brainwashing Bell into helping America.
Something people have a hard time understanding is that in times of war we often have to put our own moral obligations to the side for the greater good I.e= killing enemy soldiers, you’re still murdering someone but it’s in an attempt to save who knows how many.
This doesn’t mean that Adler can’t feel remorse or regret for what he does/done, I’m sure his actions haunt him as seen by the pill bottle on his nightstand and bottle of alcohol, or when Sims ask Adler if he had any advice on how to sleep at night, to which Adler just takes the picture and doesn’t respond.
And I’m sure he’s contemplated leaving the CIA but feels he is too far gone, as seen when Sims tells him he can leave and Adler responds that it’s too late for him.
This also doesn’t mean Adler can’t feel love or affection. This also doesn’t mean he would be abuse to his love interest, Bells “abuse” was circumstantial and so was Harrows. And we also don’t have to want to talk about the morally wrong things he’s done all the time, so if you want to make sweet and wholesome renders, stories drawings of Adlers good side then go ahead.
if you don’t like that then just move along it obviously was not catered to you.
