“As they should be” Zahra growled playfully, snapping her teeth beside Aaren’s ear, before taking a sip from her own drink. “I seem to remember someone who didn’t bother to ask drinking a fair amount of my whisky one of those years” she teased fondly, keeping herself pressed to Aaren, feeling most at home when she was by her side. Easiest to defend, or distract, as needed, but also finding contentment in how naturally they fit together. It was her turn to hum in agreement, looking out across the throngs of festival goers, easily picking out members of their pack, as well as other wolves and the other supernatural creatures she knew resided in Port Liery. “Maybe remnants of the mess with Siltshore. The witches are all on edge, makes them much less fun to play with.” The business at Siltshore had been nasty and unnecessary, and the fact that hunters felt comfortable enough to enact an incursion of that size made Zahra’s blood boil. “You know I’m always beside you in whatever you do, and if things get nasty I wouldn’t mind some hunter blood beneath my fingers”
She shrugs, unbothered by the accusation. It was true, after all... not that Aaren felt any bad for it, she remembered a lot that happened after that and she was sure Zahra wasn't all that bothered by it, not anymore at least. Smirking mischievously, she leant further against her wife, staring at her with a raised eyebrow. "It was the cheap stuff babe, couldn't had cost you that much." She teased, turning back to look around the festival while taking a large gulp of her beer.
She hummed in agreement, spotting some familiar witches and werewolves around. Trying not to scowl in disgust and annoyance at the vampires around. They were, despite it all, living in tentative peace. The hunters though, didn't seem to get the memo. "Yeah, must be... makes for such a boring fest." She reaches out, grabbing one of Zahra's hands between her own, her fingers tangling together easily. "Oh I know babe, I'm counting on it... if anyone can take those bastards out, is you."
