Living in a city, nature isn’t as accessible to people to see and experience as much anymore. This series of portraits uses overlaid nature scenes to symbolize people getting back in touch with nature. Growing up as an only child, I spent a lot of my time outside getting dirty and entertaining myself. Now most of my time is spent in doors, either working, going to school, or in my house. This series is my final project for my studio class, and explores the idea of people and nature becoming one. My lighting setups are done in studio on a white backdrop, and consist of one or two soft boxes to get soft shadows and nice lighting on the subjects.
Special thank you to Jessie, Danae, Nick, and Matt.

I derive inspiration from life, and I don’t mean that in an avant-garde romantic way at all. I mean that I play witness to many different forms of art and expression that I feel compelled to pay tribute to these varying beauties by creating portraits that communicate identity, love, loss, and life. I tend to rely a lot on music, dance, and poetry
